  1. S550 Chassis School

Everything I've heard of the new Mustang has been very positive - from suspension design, weight saving technique, handling, engine, transmission... I just hope Ford was not just BSing. I hope they can put their money where their mouths are. Hopefully they are not too into weight saving, cost...
  2. 5.0L Engine Underhood View in Yellow GT

I've been waiting to see a good shot of the engine with respect to the front wheel center line. I thought we would have seen one by now. But of course engine placement is just one part of the equation. To get good weight distribution there has to be other weight saving measure upfront.
  3. S550 Chassis School

Mr. Pill, You mention that you have driven the Fusion? How's the body structure compared to other cars in its class such as the Accord, Camry, .... I've never driven the Fusion but have driven the Fiesta and that was a fantastic little car. I personally don't like small car, and I didn't know...
  4. 5.0L Engine Underhood View in Yellow GT

It seems to me the strut bar has a little bit more clearance over the engine vs. the old and if that's true then the engine probably sits a touch lower. This already considering the strut towers on the new Mustang are themselves lower vs. the old.
  5. S550 Chassis School

Another question. With the S brace, there will be less weight distribution upfront right? which then will give the car a closer 50/50? The overall weight might be the same but with the S brace most of weight will be more further away back with respect to the front wheels? Having a "torque...
  6. S550 Chassis School

Cool! I don't mean to give you a hard time. :D Very good read so far and learned quite a bit. I guess everyone is hoping for EB ~ 3350lbs, GT ~ 3550lbs. Any more weight loss will just be an added bonus.
  7. S550 Chassis School

And the diff. too. The Fusion does not have that either. Just want to be thorough.
  8. S550 Chassis School

What about the drive shaft? The Fusion does not need a drive shaft but the RWD EB does. Just asking.
  9. Aluminum? Mustangs to Phoenix today

Carbon fiber drive shaft may be a bit too expensive for the budget GT, but makes sense for the GT350. Smaller battery? Aluminum roof? Lighter seats? Balsa wood floor? :D
  10. INGOT SILVER S550 MUSTANG Thread

Just curious. Why does this pic look like it got a bit more front and rear overhang vs. the pic below? So which one uses visual tricks?
  11. Aluminum? Mustangs to Phoenix today

Not necessary true because they don't want Chevy or Dodge to know just as you don't want to show all your hands at the table.
  12. INGOT SILVER S550 MUSTANG Thread

So what color is this? Probably a PS pic
  13. C&D: 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Sprinkled With Some SVT 'Voodoo'

With the level of sophistication of software nowaday, it should be a simple simulation. They absolutely knew how much hp they can get given the displacement and amount of max rpm and the type of engine. It's a matter of if Ford willing to put up with the cost.
  14. C&D: 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Sprinkled With Some SVT 'Voodoo'

Well just because previous gen code name had no meaning, doesn't mean the same for future code name. The same goes for the live axle.
  15. C&D: 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Sprinkled With Some SVT 'Voodoo'

I think there is a good reason why the code name for the Mustang is S550.
  16. Mustang Club of America

I think if you're in the "M3" camp, I would go with the Mustang. The Boss was a driver car in the same spirit as the M3 albeit saddled with the live axle. With the new improved suspension, I have very high hope. Ford knows how to tune car.
  17. TRIPLE YELLOW S550 MUSTANG Thread

Seems like there are tons of these cars being driven around. We need some kind of whistle blowers to tell us how these cars drive.
  18. French debut

    Not bad looking
  19. Large Batch of 2015 Mustangs with new options, wheels, combinations

I am hoping that is the case. Some of the less than perfect pics here don't look very flattering. Maybe this Mustang is a little more sensitive to photographic texture than others.
  20. Large Batch of 2015 Mustangs with new options, wheels, combinations

Yeah, ruby probably my favorite too. Ingot silver is next.
