I would like to have the white elbow connector. There is a lot of pressure on the connection because of how the hose snaked around. I'm surprised it made it to the public this way.
I have the active exhaust with a Steeda x-pipe. The tune made a big difference on my car. In track mode I get crackles between upshifts and pops when I rev match downshifts. It's awesome.
Thanks.
The material is really *melty* (if that makes sense) with the dremel. I ended up block sanding the edge to clean it up after I finally got it cut.
Cutting the cover isn't fun. I had the idea to try and make it look more factory rather than, "oops, we need to notch the cover so it fits". It turned out ok but a dremel wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.
'18 GT pp1 with a little over 18k miles.
It has the tick and rattle. ‍
The real issue are the clunks in the front end, each side does it turning in or out of the garage. I couldn't get it to do it at the dealership so I guess next time I'll have to schedule an extended drive to my house. Front...
You can get "shorty" headers that are CARB legal. There will be much debate on whether they help or not. Personally, I would like to hear from someone who has tried them on an '18+.
I liked them on my S197...
I've been watching my AF for a couple of days now with the new tune and it's hitting low 12's at wide open throttle. I think they did a pretty good job with this tune.
Thanks, I was trying to make it look factory instead of an engineering afterthought. It's awful material to work with as it seems to have a low melting point. I used a dremel with an assortment of attachments, none of which worked great but got it done. I finished it with sandpaper, by hand and...
I was one of the people that didn't receive the dirty air inlet with the rest of the kit so I drove it for a week without. It's installed now so I'll monitor them this next week.
It's going to be 100°+ so it will be a good test.
I went with the Steeda pipe. It was a good deal at the time, on sale and the first time purchase discount. It's a quality piece but I'm sure there are many others just as nice .
'18 6mt pp1 here and I'm pretty happy with it. Off idle from a stop is a lot better now. The power down low is noticeable and makes normal driving smoother.
I'm seriously surprised at how different the exhaust sounds. I have active exhaust with a resonator delete x-pipe and in track mode I get...
I was going to post this.
I don't know why it needed to be a 2 freaking inch long stud with a nylock nut on it. After it was loosened I was able to use a 3\8 drive 10mm socket and unscrew it by hand.
The kit definitely needs that elbow.
I'm not all that happy with the fit of the other hose either but they would likely have to remold a whole new hose.
