Unless you know the dealer personally I would recommend that you take it to a motor engineer or suspension specialist and get them to write a report on it.
He simply noted "excessive play in the differential" as he did not want to dissassemble it without first giving them a go. He said it could be a number of things - probabaly the yolk preload or the backlash. He referred to it as "Friday afternoon" build quality to me.
Yesterday the...
Update on the "thunk" in my driveline. I took it to an engineer and took his report to the stealership. They are niw rebiulding the diff. They said it will take at least a week ??????? What a shocker on a car with 3,000 kms on it.
:eyebulge:bloody service technician bullshitted me! When I complained at the 3k service he gave me the banter about it being a Torsen diff - and the clunking being part of the deal .:frusty:
Not happy Jan
I think that the tail happy stuff at low speed is a result of the Torsen diff. It will break the loaded tyre loose rather than spin up the unloaded tyre. This is more pronounced at low speed as the Torsen is very effective in these circumstances but less so at higher speeds.
The Torsen is...
GT 350 Steering Wheel
Hi Spiller - I like the wheel ,
Did you buy a genuine GT 350 steering wheel or a conversion kit, where did you get it and homuchwasit?
I have resisted signing up to Facebook - so I got my wife to apply to join the group tonight. I have a bunch of questions for you. So one of these events seems like the perfect opportunity to pick your brain. Thanks
Hi Phil, Where did you get the TVS installed at Harrop or here in Sydney? What is the verdict? Did you do the oil pump gears and dampener at the same time? Do Harrop have a canned tune yet or did you get a full dyne tune done?
This looks to be the solution I am looking for. Any chance I can come and experience it live before I commit? I would really like to hear it from within the car under both extreme modes.
Active cutouts
Hi Everyone, I may have missed this on an earlier post but has anyone used an active cutout to manage the cold start noise with a cat back?
Yes your labeling has been very useful. I suppose I could have worked it out from the instructions, well probably not. Two pipes with 4 connections that must be a one in six chance.
I received the catch can in the mail yesterday - thanks Rhett
It is the Pro version (added bonus) and not the 3.0. I found an instal video which is better than the instructions if anyone else is as retarded as I am with these types of things (I hate IKEA). It is at...
Thanks Phil, the Harrop setup shies real OEM finish ( well they did the last Falcon for several years didnt they)
i imagine tbe instal and tune ran to $5k plus?
It looks as if they don't want to know anyone on this topic in any case.
Did you go with the Harrop supercharger? They seem resonantly well priced with a very well sorted product - but you need to spend quite a bit on tuning it on a dyno as they don't do a canned tune from what they tell me...
I was looking at a thread about the noise made by some manual transmissions. Has anyone in OZ had a similar issue.
Mine is just getting on to 800kms now and the noise is quite pronounced when changing gear - but also when moving from acceleration to deceleration in-gear.
It sounds like...
