I just returned my car to the stock tune and unplugged the sending unit connector, my oil pressure remained NORMAL which makes me think that the oil pressure readings are coming from somewhere else.
I'll return my car to stock and unplug the sending unit connector, in theory the oil pressure on my cluster should show "low".
If it showed normal with the connector being unplugged then we know for sure that the sending unit doesn't have a role in the oil pressure
Am I right or wrong?
But why would the tune file affect the oil pressure reading in the first place if it's not getting it from the sending unit while the cluster is using the sending unit (I think)?
Interesting find:
I unplugged the sending unit connector as Bhaley89 suggested just for testing and guess what! The oil pressure gauge still worked, so as Zack said before that it ain't getting the reading from the sending unit.
I still get the error code though, waiting on MPT to send me a...
I've installed the gauges last week following Zack's way and as everybody else got a dead oil pressure gauge.
I emailed Mike from MPT (an awesome dude) asking him if he can do something about it..and he sent me 2 test files, I loaded then and the oil pressure gauge came to life!
But...
