the reason it wont stay in a concave area is because in those areas you have to feed the vinyl into the area. Most people lay it over the concave and heat and stretch into place. That will cause it to lift after some time because there is to much tension on the vinyl.

In my experiences doing things that require a heat gun... a hair dryer just never really got hot enough. If you dont use a heat gun alot go to harbor freight and pick you up a cheap one. may not be the best long term quality but will for sure work long enough to get 1 job done.
