  1. Clutchless shift M6 2018 GT

If you combine hill assist, 1st gear rev blipping, no-lift tech, and rev match technology, you've essentially built a slightly slower version of a dual clutch auto with a clutch pedal for the MY2019 6MT. Purists will not really care, but this makes me happy - as someone who uses the +/-...
  2. Clutchless shift M6 2018 GT

Is there any documentation stating that the MY2019 6MT will have no lift technology? That's news to me...though it wouldn't be shocking, as they're already building in a lot of ECM / throttle / gear sensing tech with the auto rev matching.
  3. Ecoboost Manual Shift Tips

FYI - Turbo lag is really a thing of the past. Modern turbos have a lot less mass than when turbo technology first became popular many years ago. Most people complaining about turbo lag these days are really experiencing transmission lag (ie - dual clutch fumbles).
  4. Revving

I've done it, but only to people that I know, and people that I know will rev back. I can't imagine ever doing it to a stranger - even if they are driving the same car is me. A little wave while passing would do :)
  5. Regret selling my DIB! What's the second-best option?

Relationship issues aside - It's highly likely that you will only be truly satisfied if you end up back in a DIB. Since they're not currently in production, search the country for a low miles (possibly certified) DIB ceramic, buy a one way ticket, and drive it home :) Or wait a couple of years...
  6. 2019 6MT Rev Match Only With PP?

Thanks for posting that order guide photo :D I couldn't wrap my head around why Ford would only include the auto rev match with PP when it really just as much of a comfort feature as it is a performance feature.
  7. 2019 6MT Rev Match Only With PP?

So the few articles out there talking about 2019 features are specifically saying that the auto rev match feature in the 2019 6MT is reserved only for performance pack trim levels. I'm guessing we won't know for sure if this is true until they start rolling off the assembly line, but I'd be...
  8. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

Nothing really confusing about it - they're just being consistent with their statement of going full Truck/SUV/CUV. I'm a car guy, but a Focus Active RS would be a wicked fun ride during the winter in my neck of the woods.
  9. Anyone switch from Charger to Mustang?

I mean...I can't blame your daughter for picking the Camry. The back seat of a Mustang is really no fun place to be, and unless your wife is driving, it's not going to be as enjoyable for a front seat passenger either (I'm guessing the Camry's seats are far more comfortable for long drives)...
  10. Question for those with the A10.

Is there any chance that it's looking at the outside temp (not engine temp) and thinking that roads might be slick and thus starting in 2nd gear? (which would likely cause a delay from neutral) My gut says this should only happen in wet/snow mode, but it might be programmed across all modes...
  11. 2.7L Ecoboost engine on Gen-7 Mustang EB?

The Mustang name is about so much more than the engine under the hood. The looming extinction of the V8 will almost certainly not send the Mustang packing. The hood doesn't have to shrink, as it can become storage (like the Tesla S). Or, you can take advantage of the hood by putting in a...
  12. 2.7L Ecoboost engine on Gen-7 Mustang EB?

Let's be honest - when the time comes for the V8 to go away, Ford won't care if you go away as a buyer, because there will likely be no other V8 for you to go to. And, since you will still likely need to use a vehicle for transportation, Ford will welcome you as you come crawling back, right...
  13. 2.7L Ecoboost engine on Gen-7 Mustang EB?

In its current form, you're correct, the 2.7 doesn't encroach too much on the 5.0. But also, in its current form, the 2.7 gives Ford no incentive to spend the cash on R&D to put it in the Mustang, as 325/380 is barely an improvement over the 2.3 (and with added weight, perhaps not an...
  14. 2.7L Ecoboost engine on Gen-7 Mustang EB?

There really is no point in Ford putting the 2.7 or 3.5TT into the Mustang until the 5.0 is a thing of the past. If you limit the power of the 2.7, then you're in 2.3 territory. If you keep the 2.7TT as is, then you're approaching 5.0 territory. If you boost it at all, then you're going to...
  15. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

Every new Nissan and VW also function like this. There should be a way to put the wiper blades in "service" orientation. But as a winter driver, I agree - it's a horrible design.
  16. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

It has nothing to do with fuel prices. 20mpg SUVs/Crossovers are a thing of the past. New direct inject tech (especially on a hybrid platform) will allow manufacturers to get 30+ mpg or more out of rather large vehicles. I've already said this one - I don't care where you are in the...
  17. Scary Throttle / AT Moment Today

Doesn't it rev match every down shift when in S+ when you're not applying brake pressure? (Honest question, as I've never driven the A10). If it is constantly blipping the throttle as it goes down through gears, then it's highly likely that a rev match occurred while you were slowing down with...
  18. Scary Throttle / AT Moment Today

My gut says that this is what would happen when you try to rev match a down shift with a slush box auto. Dual clutch rev matches work great, because the car is technically shifting into neutral for a fraction of a second, reving, and shifting - just like a manual, just much faster. With an...
  19. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

I'm not in IT, but my field of work is 100% tech based (I actually work with a lot of technology that will be used in autonomous vehicles). Even though I sit at a computer all day, I still want more and more tech in my vehicle. I'm also very much looking forward to partial autonomous tech...
  20. 2018 mustang color...

These threads kind of make me laugh, as they are very much based on personal opinion. I voted before reading your post, but I will say this: "In my opinion", White on Magnetic is not a great look. White stripes on blue, however, looks slick, but I would push for Kona and White rather than...
