  1. Floored my new mustang at 650 miles and worried something got damaged

I drive it as if it were already broken in since there’s 2 schools of thought. Drive it hard and baby it. I stay in the middle of those extremes. I don’t hit redline over and over for the first 1000 miles just to pay respects to the manual. šŸ˜‚
  2. Mach 1 vs GT350... anyone driven back to back.

Right, gotcha. I guess I would be surprised in that case. Pleasantly surprised since I’m $58K invented into an M1. šŸ˜‚
  3. Mach 1 vs GT350... anyone driven back to back.

I was comparing a M1 without HP to one with.
  4. Can we consider the Mach 1 a Shelby GT350 with an automatic transmission?

True. I was obsessed with the Shelby, but in the end the engine failures were too common to turn a blind eye to. The M1 is perfect for me. I like the HP, but I don’t think it’s worth the $4500 price tag. For me anyway… Base M1 is a great value for your dollar.
  5. Mach 1 vs GT350... anyone driven back to back.

Yea, that’s not a fair fight. Two different weight classes. šŸ˜‚
  6. Mach 1 vs GT350... anyone driven back to back.

You joking? Lol I’m guessing you are because the HP offers no speed benefit. At least not in a straight line. On a track with the right driver- sure.
  7. Mach1 front bumper

That’s gonna be hard to do mechanically. šŸ˜‚
  8. Final gut check - about to buy a GT350

Show me the data that shows it’s not an unreliable motor. See how stupid that sounds? If you have convinced yourself the voodoo issues don’t exist or are isolated/limited. Cool.
  9. Final gut check - about to buy a GT350

It means more than a small percentage. šŸ˜‰
  10. S550 Perceptions once the s650 is realeased/announced?

Lol. That’s why I used quotations, cowboy.
  11. Final gut check - about to buy a GT350

You are in denial. The data is under your nose. The forum is riddled with engine failures as early as 2000 miles. Want me to tag you in every forum post or YouTube video highlighting the countless issues with this motor? I’m good. I see you own 2 yourself, so obviously you’re gonna be...
  12. S550 Perceptions once the s650 is realeased/announced?

I just bought a Mach 1 and I could have waited for the S550. I honestly have some concerns that the ā€œmuscle carā€ era is truly coming to an end. The industry is geared towards fuel economy with electric motors and automatic transmissions. None of which compliment the Mustang. šŸ˜‚ We will see. If...
  13. Final gut check - about to buy a GT350

I mean no disrespect. I think it’s fair to say a large percentage have experienced engine failures. This forum is riddled with threads related to engine failure. Not all are unreliable and I hope nobody experiences issues with them. One thing Is for sure— its the coolest Mustang ever IMO.
  14. Can we consider the Mach 1 a Shelby GT350 with an automatic transmission?

I stall legit ever time I drive it. But I’ve driven it less than a dozen times. šŸ˜‚
  15. Can we consider the Mach 1 a Shelby GT350 with an automatic transmission?

How many miles did you drive it? You need to get past that ā€œhumpā€ and something will click. You’ll still stall here and there, but driving it will become second nature. I was like that about 20 years ago. I’m still ā€œlearningā€ to drive my Mach 1 and I get frustrated too. You just need more time...
  16. Can we consider the Mach 1 a Shelby GT350 with an automatic transmission?

The M1 is the closest you’ll get to a NEW GT350. That said, it’s not a GT350. If you want an auto the M1 is surely your best option. I will piggyback on the opinion that you should give a manual more time. As others have stated you need to drive it a lot. I only have 500 miles on mine and I...
  17. Mach1 front bumper

I actually thought about debadging and removing all the vinyl from my M1. I’m kind of a minimalist. I won’t do it because I’m likely not keeping it forever. It would destroy the value. EDIT: Before someone says, ā€œthen why did you buy a Mach 1?ā€ Because of the mechanical upgrades.
  18. Mach1 front bumper

I don’t know what it is about upbadging, debadging, body modifying, etc…, but if you’re gonna do it, do it on a base GT where you’re already at a lower cost starting point. If I had a GT and I wanted to modify it cosmetically, I’d personally go with some aftermarket options that were unique...
  19. Final gut check - about to buy a GT350

What’s the ā€œcrapā€ in my statement?
