Here's a couple of quick pictures of my newly arrived base Ecoboost with the 18in alloys... I'll pick it up tomorrow after it has been through a PDI and been washed.
I'll post more images once I get it home.
My order moved into 'In Transit' for the second time, and I have a new EDD of 11/14...
Hopefully it's correct this time! Just in time to play in the snow!!!
If you go to Flat Rock you'll see this exact combination of color, trim and wheel sitting in the shipping yard... As it has been for the last two weeks!
I'll be posting lots of pictures, if it ever turns up.
Hope you get your car soon. My EDD, as has happened to many, has just disappeared :(
It's bad enough when the dates change on COTUS, but is even worse when they disappear...
Same for me. Where is your dealer? Mine is in Farmington Hills/Novi.
The frustrating thing is the dealer ordered an almost identical stock car based on my order and it arrived yesterday!
I was just passing my Ford dealer, as you do, and noticed an Ingot Silver Ecoboost which was ordered by my dealer at the same time as mine. Somehow their car showed up before mine, even though it went through production on the exact same dates as my car :(
It is identical to mine other than the...
Just switched to 'In Transit'!!!
Dropped from 11 to 8 days. I assume the dealer will need some time to prep for delivery, otherwise they may have hired someone to push my car the 40 miles from the plant to the dealer.
As much as we would all like to get our cars immediately, the logistics of organizing trains and trucks means the cars are going to be waiting for transport.
Hopefully Ford can minimize the delays...
The base V6/Ecoboost/GT will control Google maps via voice command on Android at least (I don't know about the iPhone), and the spoken directions will come over the speakers. All I need is a discrete mount to hold it for quick glances. It should be no worse than the built in Nav.
If you use an Android phone, try out of the HERE navigation app from Nokia. It's just like Google Maps, but allows offline map caching of whole states and countries, and does not need a data connection if the map is in the internal memory. If you do have data it has realtime traffic.
EDIT...
Yep! I'm obviously very eager to get some miles on it before I drive it through the winter - any recommendations for winter tires for a Ecoboost? I'm looking to buy a set of wheels and tires if the weather is as bad as last year.
+1
Especially on the lighter colors the contrast removes a little visual bulk from the rear. I'm going to look at a small vinyl wrap over part of the diffuser to get the contrast back.
Here's hoping... Mine just came out of production yesterday. Hopefully the worst of the issues have been sorted.
I work for a Ford supplier, and have equipment on the Mustang and F150 lines, and know how hard they work on fixing these issues.
Edit: Just checked out three GTs at my local...
The door to fender gap was closer at each end than in the middle. The shapes of the two panels don't match.
Also the A pillar alignment is a little rough.
Having said that, I wouldn't refuse delivery. Just that my 12 year old Vibe has better panel fit.
