These are still fairly simple though. Take the caliper off (2 bolts) take the pins out and put the new pads in and bolt the caliper back on. Should be about 5 min process.

+1. People are so quick to compare dyno numbers but they are a bad comparison unless run on the same dyno, same day at the same time. Too many variables otherwise.

$6-8k is a dream. I don't see them being that cheap in the near future. If they get under 10k a set I would consider that a good deal. $2500 for a full carbon wheel isn't bad compared to other wheels out there. Also its 50,000 units total produced per year, not sets...

I would either wait and save up more and get what you really want or get the base if thats all you can afford. No reason to spend more than you should because you are worried about resale down the road. Of course the track to tech package will be worth more...because you spent more in the...

From Tob with his interview with Jamal Hameedi. I wouldn't say its due to pricing unless you were sitting in the room with the engineers who made the decision. But as far as the decision to go with steel this is the only information I've found. Its a credible source so i'm going to believe it.

The carbon fiber shaft the Ford engineers were looking at wasn't stiff enough for the application. The critical frequency was a concern so they used a 2-piece steel shaft instead. It wasn't decided due to cost.
