If you're doing headers and axle back, you will get the greatest gain by going with a COMPLETE system, so as to reduce the transitions/restrictions between each section.
I know SW and ARH both offer complete systems.
If you are looking to piece it together, you could do something like an ARH...
A catback is not really eliminating the bottleneck, as it is not a complete system you are still dealing with the connection between a stock component and an aftermarket one.
As has been pointed out in almost every exhaust thread, the largest exhaust gain will come from the headers, primarily...
My VFE Supercharger Kit for my M3 - with a low to the ground intake, actually included a "Hydro Shield" over the intake. I put about 50,000 miles on that kit, and never had a single issue.
I just ordered the ProCharger kit for this car, and was actually wondering about putting something on...
I debated Whipple vs. ProCharger and ultimately orderd the ProCharger for a variety of reasons:
-Power Delivery Characteristics - I like the linear delivery - I had a Vortech V3 (VF Engineering Kit) on my E46 M3, and loved the way it maintained the stock cars power curve, just with increasingly...
How are you using it?
What supercharger?
What power levels?
These are things to consider when selecting not only a supercharger kit, but what other modifications will be wanted/needed.
I ordered an American Racing Cat Back at the same time from BeefCake. I have unfettered dyno access, and a DSLR. So assuming that it does actually all go together in 5-7hrs with exhaust install time, I will be able to do before/after same day dynos ... worst case it will just be the next day.
Thanks to this thread, I just finalized my order for the ProCharger HO kit with Stage 2 Intercooler from BeefCake. Great customer service. Great Price. And I really appreciate the support and advice that he provides on this forum.
Im sure Vortech will stick to their official line with this, however, I had a Vortech V3 on my supercharged M3 for 3 Maine Winters, and while the car was not my daily driver, I did drive it frequently in sub freezing temps without issue. I do NOT have a heated garage, so it was always a cold...
Are you thinking higher potential peak output on the V3 kits than the ProCharger HO kit (assuming tuning, fueling, etc. changes?)
I dont want to deal with custom tuning right now, so I'm wondering which Centri base kit will take me the furthest in the long run, without changing head units.
