Wow, you aren't lying. Just logged into my wife's Facebook and went to Ford. It's way worse there than on here. They even cut the comments on one post.
And kind of the entire point why the people who are upset, are upset by it. By the very definition of making it a brand with a flavor of the week instead of just a model, it dilutes the name and history of Mustang. Ford already has 2 brands, Ford and Lincoln. You might disagree with these...
So in this scenario, is the Mustang name going to just replace Ford as a brand or are we just going to rotate the Mustang name around to the popular vehicle flavor of the week?
Exactly. Whose "long term" vision? Some Millennials MIGHT gravitate to this car, but they usually don't like to spend a lot of money, if they even do buy a new car at all. The top three car models most owned by Millennials are Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Honda Civic, ironically, all...
I can't see many current Mustang owners actually buying the Mach E. If anything, I think the older Mustang owners' wives might buy the Mach E or the younger Mustang owners' mothers.
I never drove one but considered them for a long time. The biggest thing that kept me away was all the voodoo issues. We even had a local guy whose voodoo popped with around 5k miles. Just seems like it's too big of a gamble with that motor and a car at that price level. Otherwise, the car...
At least in my experience and thinking of my local area, most Gen Xer's are in prime family age, they tend to have Minivans, larger SUV's, or 4 door sedans for daily drivers. CUV's around here are almost exclusively used by old women, to the point that they are even the ones usually driving...
Except most of these will be bought by Boomer women, especially given the price. While I think it will hold some appeal to certain Millennials, they usually can't or have no desire to spend that much on a vehicle.
That's my line of thinking too. The car itself will attract a certain type of buyer, the Mustang nameplate will not appeal to that buyer at all. What using the Mustang name on a vehicle like this DOES do is what you see in this thread and around the net on other enthusiast sites, it tends to...
Most new cars are unaffordable for most Americans. The cost to develop and build cars and therefore the prices just keep skyrocketing b/c auto companies need to stay on the cutting edge of more and more tech to appease worldwide government regs. That costs a lot money, time, engineering, etc...
