The GT500 is great, I'd love to have one (if they were cheaper). But it was rendered obsolete after the delays and with the C8 announcement. Add to that the higher cost of the GT500 vs C8 plus all the ridiculous dealer markups, and it's just not a great option for the money.
Why do CUV's need...
Yep, Corvette goes mid-engine "supercar" (the ZR1 version will be incredible). Ford is like "Eff this, Mustang is now a CUV for Karen". Ford v Ferrari my a55.
I don't think it's gender bashing. Most CUV's are driven by older women or younger Moms (until their family grows into a bigger SUV or a minivan). While we all used to get stuck behind the "old lady" in a Buick driving super slow years ago, now we are stuck behind the "old lady" in a Honda CRV...
I'm more surprised by the gratuitous use of "butt hurt" by all "sides" in this thread. I don't think I've seen it used as often since about 10-15 years ago when most people stopped using the term.
I think this guy is dead on with his comments about the Mustang name not appealing to nor attracting MachE type buyers but pissing off current Mustang owners. I also think he's right about people absolutely hating the current dealership experience. It is MISERABLE.
Identity. Many of us "car people" buy a car that we think/feel reflects our own personality. That may be even more true for people that buy a "weekend or fun car", as this car may represent more of themselves than they think their more sensible daily driver does. What Ford did by naming a CUV...
Jim, I'm curious what your research may indicate about Millennial car buying habits, both current and future? If you don't mind sharing, as I imagine it's a big industry topic. I have seen articles that state that the 3 most Millennial owned models are the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and...
It's not the electric nor the performance that bothers most people, it's the fact that it's a CUV. It's a Honda CRV clone with an electric engine and a huge gaudy iPad for an interior. It's a vehicle for old women who MIGHT trade in their CRVs or RAV4s, and the few Millennials who actually...
