  1. Test Drove a '25 S650 10r80 car today.

The screen changes, removing the switches, etc are unforgivably stupid. I’m so sick of car companies slapping two iPads on and calling it a day, and charging you more. I specifically didn’t buy one near me at a great price in my dream spec because of the new gen interior and rear. Do they focus...
  2. Steeda Functional Race Wing FTW

I don’t work there or anything but I do buy fabricated items for work and the increased cost of raw metals is crazy. not helpful of me really but I saw this on the home page
  3. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Haha, if i needed to commute every day for 30 min in traffic via car I definitely would’ve learned first!
  4. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Yes, will do. Although I almost don’t want to look now lol
  5. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Yeah that might be it - leg isn’t used to fine motor skills as a whole unit
  6. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Thanks, Paul! Rental car is an interesting idea. I wonder if rental companies even rent out standards? I guess I could try Turo but I’d feel bad for the host! I was under the impression that I probably wouldn’t be doing much damage to the car by slipping the clutch at low speed, going slowly...

Plus anything I break from bad shifting is replaceable I guess. thanks! Gotta go get more practice in. Ordered the spring and perch
  8. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Yeah I’m partially just stressed in traffic with everyone behind me, and partially concerned I’ll break the car lurching/stalling etc as I get a handle on it
  9. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

I had the salesman drive it and he was quite smooth on it so I’m sure it is just me. I guess I was looking for tips and shortcuts to get better faster mainly a daily - not much dailying though… public transport to work 3 days a week ideally. Some mild track use, I’m not an advanced driver by...
  10. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

I am new to it obviously but I bet their thought was, if the tension changes at the bite point it’ll be easy to tell when you’re there for beginners! unfortunately, it also makes it hard to stay there lol
  11. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Oh, interesting. On my auto mustang I swapped to Castrol SRF brake fluid for some track stuff. Is that a problem to use now because it’s used for the clutch too? Does a manual car take more brake fluid? I know I can read this in the manual probably but I’m at the pool… haha
  12. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Well there is something I need to learn how to do - will look in manual for where to check that, haha
  13. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Yeah I think it’s a separate thing but the car does raise the revs as you let out the clutch if you don’t touch the gas. You can get started without gas bc of this, it’s just very slow
  14. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

I hope so. I feel like I’m not getting much better at quickly finding the engagement area of the clutch. But maybe I’m expecting to be good at it too quickly, I’ve only driven it 2 hours or so and 45 min of that was practicing
  15. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Maybe but I think the clutch modulation is my bigger issue - I am keeping the revs around 1500 I think pretty well
  16. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Overthinking it is a big issue for me in all new things, haha. I did find a lot last night nearby that had a flat lot, then a ramp down and ramp up, then a flat lot. So you can do a loop getting flat and hill starts.
  17. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

What you’re explaining with it pushing back more right as you get towards bite point is exactly my problem. I’m struggling to develop the muscle memory because it feels so inconsistent there. Between that and the clutch travel feeling dirty it just doesn’t feel intuitive to me that being said...
  18. Bought a Bullitt, never driven manual before. Looking for advice, question in body

Hmmm. The clutch travel just feels so not smooth, it’s hard for me to control it finely. More practice I guess
