  1. New Embargo'd Aero/Cooling Info- Released today.

I used to own a GT500 and the first thing everyone does is pulley, CAI, and tune it That said, I'm not sure that the 180mph limit is that big of a deal, since any aftermarket tune is going to remove that limit anyway.
  2. Listen to all four GT500 exhaust modes!

That is true. I got pulled over in 1998 when I was driving my 67 Mustang with 32" glasspacks. I was let go with an apology. At least with this car, you can switch it over to quiet mode before pulling over to the side of the road. :like:
  3. Official 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang Press Release, Specifications, Photos & Videos

I certainly hope not. The '14 GT500 had an MSRP of $55K and a new ZL1 starts at $64k (a quick search shows tons of new ZL1's available UNDER $60k). Pricing it $20k more than the last model and $11k more than the ZL1 MSRP would be sales suicide. Hell, I can't even get a ZL1 over $72k, checking...
  4. Official 2020 GT500 brochure!

Considering the early easter egg, I've guessed it'd be 755hp for a while.
  5. 2020 GT500 Will Be Revealed on Jan 14, 2019! Sneak Peek of Supercharged 5.2-Liter Predator Engine

I totally would, but he's only at this house for the Holidays now. He spends most of his time out in Scottsdale these days. If I run into him around Christmas time though, I'll see what I can find out though. :like:
  6. 2019 Mustang GT350 Configurator Now live......

Yes, I had a 2008. The 07-09's definitely had very heavy clutches. That said, my car had a little more power than a stock 13/14 and even with the McLeod setups I used subsequently, they were still heavy.
  7. 2019 Mustang GT350 Configurator Now live......

I have not. Honestly, if I'm going to spend that much money on a Mustang, it's going to be boosted and at that power level, they require heavier clutches. I could always get one and do a 10R80 swap, but now that the GT500 is supposedly close, there's no reason to really consider that anymore...
  8. 2019 Mustang GT350 Configurator Now live......

I love manuals, but I got rid of my GT500 because my stop and go commute killed 2 very expensive clutch kits in it. My '16 GT isn't nearly as fast, but with its 6R80, I no longer dread my commute and my left leg is now back to normal size. The reason I'm so excited for the new GT500 is the...
  9. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

I think the 750-780hp range is fairly locked for the GT500. After all, we all know that Ford has to leave room on the table for the aftermarket. When I owned a GT500, I used to caravan to events with other local GT500 owners, sometimes 15 or more, and not a single guy had less than an extra...
  10. Ford Mustang ads banned in UK!

Of course our gun homicides are higher than the UK's. We're allowed to own them and our population is over 4x as much as the UK. The UK is a beautiful country and I've vacationed there half a dozen times. What can I say? I like gloomy weather. That said, I couldn't live with the lack of...
  11. August 2018 Mustang Sales

    I presume you mean 480hp, not 460hp?
  12. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

True, but a quick search on cars.com shows ~150 new base GT350's under $60k. Some start as low as $55k. I'd like to think, okay... hope, a "base" GT500 would come in under $70k.
  13. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

I think you missed the point. I'm saying sales-wise, the Challenger is the biggest threat to the Mustang. How the Camaro does performance-wise is irrelevant. It's not selling, regardless of body refreshes. The Challenger platform hasn't changed significantly in about a decade, but it sells...
  14. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

I agree. Ford's main challenger these days, is... the Challenger. It doesn't really matter how fast the Camaro is around a road course. It doesn't do well at the drag strip, or at the dealership. The Challenger, which now regularly outsells the Camaro, despite being an old platform, sells...
  15. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

No joke there. You can already buy an 800hp '18 GT from Lebanon Ford with a warranty, for as little as $41k...
  16. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Totally a fake. The last GT500 did 199mph with less power and poorer aero. The 707hp Charger, which weighs 4,575lbs, will do 202mph. Even if the weight on this were true (it's not), it would still be more apt to go faster than a Charger.
  17. Ford Celebrates Production of 10 Millionth Mustang!

Congrats Ford! I'm currently on #12 of owned Mustangs. Also, future congrats to Chevrolet, on the 10 millionth Camaro (estimated manufacturing date of 2035).
  18. July 2018 Mustang Sales

Been there with my '16 GT... Luckily it was fixed under warranty, but since the compressor exploded (due to all of the refrigerant leaking out of the evaporator), they had to replace the whole system, which meant disassembling the interior to get to the evaporator. They had the car for almost...
