There are a few spare tire subs that are options. I am trying this one first as it will fit with the tire still installed. https://www.cdtaudio.com/sep_components/subwoofers/sub15hsub15sl.php a few others out there but are 5.75" - 6.75" in height and don't fit with spare tire still installed.

I wonder if the harness changed from 2017 to 2018. Any chance you could snap a pic of the connectors and any of your install? Did the shaker amp have a line level output for the subwoofer that would have been installed from the factory? I have not seen a diagram for that amp yet.
