  1. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

i think it does to a degree but as you increase in revs the noise is drowned out by everything else. Also, cylinder pressures are lower at a light tip in around 2 k then when loaded leaving the piston to not rock as much due to the pressure on the top of the cylinder.
  2. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

although I still believe my initial reasoning was solid I found a flaw in the method. When I hooked it up in the above post, the area clipped onto the engine was quiet. After all the discussion I focused more on the engine. The scope I used has 6 channels, I hooked 3 up on each side of tne...
  3. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

I very much appreciate the discussion on this topic over the last few days. I believe we have moved the topic forward knowing and documenting the issue. I have found examples of this exact same noise on: 2011 Mustang GT 2017 Mustang GT 2018 Mustang GT 2018 Mustang GT350 The one major...

  6. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

Perfect video! I hate to say but it sounds similar enough to say it could be the same noise.
  7. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

Correct. The dual mass flywheel is a component to the manual cars only. Auto cars have what often looks like a flywheel, but it’s called a flex plate. This bolts the torque converter to the engine.
  8. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

Really appreciate the response. Your comment about conditions for reproducing the rattle is extremely relevant to this discussion. Those who have manuals can recreate this in the driveway, driving, in gear and in neutral. While we cannot say one 10 speed car represents the entire population...
  9. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

I wonder the same thing about the auto noise. My friend has a F150 and the 2k range has what I would describe as a loud valvetrain. It’s softer and more frequent than the 2k sound from my manual. Curious if any auto cars have video of their rattle? Would be good to compare as You said...
  10. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

19 GT Manual 2k rattle Although this topic has had significant coverage, I wanted to provide both observations discovered during diagnosis and my theories based on those observations. I performed a series of tests to help determine the source and rule out other potential sources. Tests: ·...

  16. 2019 Mustang Horn - Single Tone - Solution

Basically they are saying, the car came with a single tone and if you are disappointed by that, you can change to the new part at your own expense. They won’t replace a failed horn with a dual nor will they replace a working single with a dual. It’s unfortunate as it’s downright embarrassing...
  17. 2019 Mustang Horn - Single Tone - Solution

I recently purchased a 2019 Mustang GT. The first time I locked the car, the beep from the horn sounded like a cheap econo box from the 90's. Having previously owned a 16 EB it did not sound correct. My EB had one of the 2 horns go out during warranty which was the sound the 19 made...
