The crankshaft position sensor is behind the passenger side head in the block and goes down and reads off of the tone wheel mounted behind the flex plate/flywheel. It is not at the front of the motor.

You can disable it using FORSCAN or I have heard when you close the door hold the fob against the back glass in the upper corner.

Shouldn't be that hard to adjust the mounting surface dimensions. I pulled the dimensions straight from the instruction manual.

I second this! I currently have my controller in this position and it would be great to have it hard mounted there.

Have you done the crank relearn procedure since the install? It is in Whipple's install instructions after flashing their tune. Not doing will also cause the random mis-fire and blinking check engine light.
