I know this is directed towards Travis, but...
Personally, I wouldn't consider running a mile event with the 3.73 gears. I just don't think it would be fun after the 1/2 mile mark knowing I'm out of 5th gear. I would either swap to 3.31, changes trans, or not run.
I would probably switch to a 3.31. I was doing some digging and I could go to a 29" tall tire to get more out of 5th, but that seems awful tall to be running in the 1/2. Honestly, what Travis mentioned about a trans swap would probably be better for us MT82 guys. Who knows how long this trans...
Everything I've ever read says to upgrade fuel system to run E85. I have the Fore Level 1 from Beefcake. Car made 680 on 93 and 747 on E85 with 3.6" pulley. My stock clutch came out at around 6K miles and didn't show much wear (over 2K miles at 620whp). The RXT is a nice upgrade, though...
I have around 8K miles - 4K miles stock, 2K miles at 620whp, and another 2K or so at 750whp (E85). I upgraded OPG and Crank Gear when I switched fuel systems to run E85.
Please post proof of airstrip attack runs with video/trap slips. Bring that thing up to IL in May for the No Fly Zone. I don't think they will check for shoes and I'd be happy to run you. I don't make anywhere near 1xxx wheel horsepower, so should be a walk in the park for you.
I couldn't make it through any of his videos. If he is so proud of his ProCharger car, why is it that none of his videos have anything to do with the actual performance of the car? He could have a little credibility if he actually posted some racing and/or dyno videos.
I've only been racing 1/2 mile with mine. I run out of 5th gear before end of track with 3.73 gears, so I'll be changing them. I beat up on all kinds of cars (Vettes, Viper, Lambo, CTS-V, Supra, Camaro, G8, other Mustangs and a few other types of cars...) even though my car topped out at 160...
I have Boundary OPG and MMR CS. Cost me an extra 2 hours labor since I already had the blower on my car when they were done. Either way, a little piece of mind for the 1/2 mile passes I have done and will be doing in the car.
I'm on the same Brisk plugs from 6 months ago with 40 or so 1/2 mile passes. Ran 93 for first 3 months and E85 for other 3. No issues. I do have a spare set of plugs laying around just in case.
Very nice! I only missed by 8hp. I decided to compete in a dyno competition over the weekend. Hit 758rwhp on an MD500 dyno. I believe it was reading high. A buddy has a Chevy SS with just headers (catted w/stock mufflers) and a tune - he put down 475. They come with 415 crank HP. That...
