There was a really nice Mach 1 that went into a tire wall at CMP yesterday doing NASA HPDE-1 with an instructor in the car, So the risk is very real, but its also on a whole different level of fun. I have never snorted coke but I have to think doing your first track day is like doing your first...
If I had to do it again I would start with low traction tires. When I was around 7ish track days into this thing I hit 3 track days in a row that had rain. The 3 rain events taught me more about driving my car at the limit than the whole 4 to 5 years I have been doing this. Shitty tires will...
For NT555 G2's the street settings listed will probably work pretty good. As you put more of a track tire on it you will want more camber. As you gain experience on the track you will probably want less toe in on the front possibly even a touch of tow out, but for first day on your tires stick...
I have had many sets of 595 rs/rr and a few sets of the RS pro's. The pro's seam to turn in a little sharper but I would say they are similar. They are not the best for a blazing fast single lap but they are great for HPDE / Test and tune days. I would assume they are decent autocross tires and...

When budget is not a issue and you want a turn key factory car that is not modified, to use as a dual purpose car I dont know if there is any better option. The GT3 and C7 Zo6 are the only 2 cars that are consistanly faster than mine on HPDE days with factory ish cars. Full race car...
I was just brinnging up that point because of the number of hrs of sleep I lost trying to decide if removing the AC was a good idea. In my case it was, but no 2 people on this fourm have the same goals or budget, so I was just proposing the other side of the I would never do it or I wish I had...
Or you could go with this theory and make your current car a dedicated race car. I pulled mine and added the Watson racing radiator close out ducting with big oil cooler and I have not had the first issue with heat since. Having said that I don't drive this car on the street hardly at all...
Be carefull when you put the new sensor in that you get it installed right. I could not see in the hole where it goes but, I first just put it in, put the bolt in it and started the engine and it was running worse that before. I pulled it back out and tried again and felt a hole that the end...
I was using the Element fire extinguisher and had several tech inspection conservations where they did not like it. I believe this was just because they did not know the product but either way they would have been happier with something that looked like a normal one.
I am having a new problem with mine that is causing this also. In the past I have had issues with the inferred engine oil temp limiting the top RPM to something less than 7000 RPM based on the temperature (the higher the temp the lower the max RPM limit) and with this if the car was supposed to...
It was not as good for that one single lap. My experience with Faulkens is they will run one fast lap on about lap 3 or 4 but then fall off. The Kumo's seamed like they were more consistent thru the 20min session, but never as good as that one lap for Faulken.
25 PSI cold with a target of 31 PSI hot, but as the day was going on I felt like it needed to be around 30 to be happiest. Camber is set on front -2.9deg and 1.9deg rear.
I did the TT event Saturday at AMP. My take on this tire is about what I was expecting. It got up to temp pretty quickly. For frame of reference it was 40ish deg during our 1st session, and this tire was ready for me to lean on it during the first hot lap (they run one pace lap before green...
For a lapping tire, for sure I would go with these again since they are so inexpensive. Cant comment yet on TT. I am doing a TT event this weekend so I will have some additional data. The bad part for this data is, I have never been to this track so I cant compare my times from the past. but...
I have the V730's in 305/30/19, only have one 20 min session on them before my car was messed up, but my first impression is that they will fall somewhere between a Faulken RT660 and a Federal 595 RS/RR for single lap time. I also was giving them a try due to the price point. I am running...
Its has been covered a bunch on this forum, but CHT does not equal the cars idea of what coolant temp is. The car calculates the coolant and oil temp based on some algorithm, and does not have sensors for either. You should be fine for a few track night in America events with your base model...
I have kooks Cats and just found one that fell apart and plugged up the exhaust at the first bend past the cat. Mine is N/A and only 430hp at the rear wheels used as a track car, so its not just a big HP thing. Took about 3500 track miles to destroy mine.
