  1. Poll: What should Ford call the GT350 for MY2018-19

And the winners are doz, jrdejavux, Jumpman, mikeylikesit, SDShelby, sweetchuck2001 Not exactly as polled but 'Mustang GT4' for the race car is close enough. ThePill's guess of GT350R-GT4 is also close enough for a win. 'Mustang GT4' is the name I was pulling for but didn't think Ford would...
  2. When will we see the new GT500?

I didn't mean to suggest there would not be a 2018 GT350. My bet is that it will just be a moderate change in appearance in keeping with the GT changes to the lights etc. Not something that needs a lot of mule testing like a new GT500 would. I updated my original post accordingly.
  3. When will we see the new GT500?

My bet is that Ford's priority list is 1. GT 2. GT500 3. GT350 The current GT350R (and R-C) are already homologated and qualified for GT4 racing for 2017. Ford Performance doesn't need a highly upgraded 2018 GT350 for 2017. Just some moderate visual upgrades. More manufacturers will be...
  4. GT350R-C vs. Z/28.R in Sports Car racing

It seems to me that even with the much improved Alpha chassis, Chevy is not much closer to being able to compete in GT4, and after following Camaro6 for a while it seems that the Camaro guys just don't seem to care. A 2015 championship, a few PWC wins, and some 'supercar' Ring times with the ZL1...
  5. GT350R-C vs. Z/28.R in Sports Car racing

I'm confused. The stock GT350R has 526HP but ran with a 58mm restrictor in IMSA. The stock Z28 had 505HP and I thought it ran with a 60mm restrictor. That should have brought both cars fairly close in HP. Did the Z28 get to run above the 400HP limit for GS?

  7. GT350R-C vs. Z/28.R in Sports Car racing

What happened to the Z/28.R in IMSA CTSC GS for 2016? Why did Stevenson Racing move to GT3 and Mantella Racing to PWC? Why no other Camaros? The following document shows the list of GS eligible cars for 2015. CTSC SCR August 12 FINAL.pdf It included two Riley built Camaros. The second one...
  8. Ford to build FPC VOODOO till 2020

"Look at me" factor. I like that! Much more descriptive than 'exclusivity' or 'rare', and probably more accurate. Like everyone, I enjoy any waves or thumbs up my car receives, but that is not the reason I still love to drive it every chance I get. It meets all of my needs for performance and...
  9. September 2016 Sales Numbers...Mustang. 6,429

Although GoodCarBadCar provides Canadian sales numbers fairly early each month their "Sporty Car Sales In Canada" report does not come out until fairly late in the month. There is generally a paragraph or two that summarizes how well the Mustang and Challenger are doing in Canada compared to the...
  10. More 2018 Mustang Spied Pics...

This shot seems to show that thin piece of camouflaged upright in the center of the lower grill. There is no way that apparently stiff piece of metal is there for any reason other than holding the black camouflage from blowing into the grill.
  11. Ford to build FPC VOODOO till 2020

I also do not disagree with most of what you say above, and I share the need to feel that my car is in some way special (although not exclusive) at a car show. My only argument is with those that want to see Ford drop the GT350 now just so they can keep their exclusiveness and feel good about...
  12. Ford to build FPC VOODOO till 2020

If I understand your point correctly Stan, you are correct that one of the points I was making is that owning an IMSA Championship car is pretty darn exclusive. But I was also implying that the exclusivity of owning a winner might help replace some of the exclusivity that is being taken away...
  13. Rumormill: Next gen coyote will be twin turbo 4.0L.

I was parked at a Show and Shine the other day beside a tech from Multimatic who was telling me about the work going into the Ford GT street car to keep the engine cool with the limited space around it. It sounds like space would be impossible for something like a 4.0TT. Yeah Ford GT for P1...
  14. Ford to build FPC VOODOO till 2020

For anyone with a bad case of exclusivityitis, maybe this will help. Now try to convince me that Ford should quit while they are ahead.
  15. September 2016 Sales Numbers...Mustang. 6,429

It can be a 4T or V6, but with an automatic transmission only. If you want the same car(?) but with a manual, then you have to change models to a 1LT. How does that make any sense? Makes one kind of suspicious. 1LT, 1LS, 1SS, 2SS, 1LE, ZL1, LS1, LT1, LT4? I need to go lie down till my head...

  17. Ouch! Chevy and GM brand names fall off the charts

Interbrand released its annual list of the world’s top 100 brands All GM Brands are no where to be found. Chevy fell from #85 to missing from the chart. Ford is 5th highest automaker. #33 overall...
  18. Poll: What should Ford call the GT350 for MY2018-19

thePill added the moniker 'GT350R-GT4' in another thread. That would seem to fit with the first option in the pole instead of GT350R-C.
  19. 2017-'18 GT500 & GT500KR

Duel does not have to mean firing a gun. Think of sword fights. A Duel might also be a competition between two injectors to get fuel into the same cylinder.
  20. Poll: What should Ford call the GT350 for MY2018-19

Doesn't anyone have any serious 'other' names for 2018-2019?
