Thanks for the info. I had the rear diff out a while back and told myself I should have done a brake upgrade at the same time since I had the rear all apart anyhow lol
I have went through most of this info but I am trying to find a dyno sheet for a stock 18/19 with 10R80 automatic to look at. I'm wanting to see the torque curve and a graph that lists the rpm range. I'm trying to determine based on those numbers were I can start messing with my shift points on...
What is the brand of rear diffuser set up is this? I'd like something like this for mine, but I'm guessing you have to totally ditch the axle backs to make this work?
Side note, I have a full tilt boogie kit an I can run the car hard on the track and it keeps it around 175/180 all the time with...
The tranny on the track is amazing. It holds the gears and puts you in the correct gear to maximize power at whatever speed you are at. I say the shorter tires make it work harder as it throws off the speedo and it makes it shift more than what it does with the stock tires that are an inch...
Alex paddle shifts his. I just let the computer take care of mine at this point in track mode. I may try the paddles in the future but I want to get my coolers on and test them before I add a variable to the equation. I'm already changing to shorter and stickier tires so that will make the trans...
I know they aren’t EC7’s but I’m running 19x11 SM10’s for track use and really like them. The tire is a bit shorter than I’d like but I got a deal on them. I’ll run a little taller next time around.
I have only had trans temp issues on one track and that was at NCM in bowling green. The track is big though and has 24 turns so it works it a bit harder. Up until that track I had no trans temp issues but am building a cooler set up to make sure things don't get hot in the future, or trying to...
If it is an 18+ it'll be a torx plus which is slightly different. Found that out when I did my rear diff cooler...torx plus is more squared off versus rounded.
Another question I have on this topic that the OP brought up is the under hood insulation. For those of you who have removed it, do you notice any issues with the pain on the hood?
I want to open up my factory hood vents as well. I wish the trackspec vents had more thought put into them for the 18 and fit the contours of the hood better. I'm not a fan on how they just sit behind the factory side vents and look like an after thought.
I do HPDE in my 18GT 10 Speed car and I did a rear diff cooler and put in royal purple 75w140 but it had friction modifier in it so I didn't add any extra. If you push your car the rear diff will get hot so watch the temps on it. If you don't have a sensor in the rear diff cover, just know it...
I just ordered my parts today to piece together a tranny cooler set up to piggy back the factory cooler. I hope to start on it next week and see how far we get. I'll keep you in the loop as I know we have been discussing this.
I'm in the process of trying to put together a transmission and oil cooler set up for my 18 gt pp1 with a 10R80 trans. If I run big coolers up front does anyone with experience in adding coolers feel this will hurt the engine cooling on the car? Thanks in advance!
I have a pp1 magnaride car and no one has made anything production quality yet, just some one off custom stuff. I did speak with a manufacturer today about this very plate design who has done a one off before and he said he may get to work on this and order a set of magnaride spindles. Due to...
