it wasn’t a wire brush (which to be fair, I believe wire might’ve been milder/ better option)
I was planning on bedding them in either way, in case that for some reason those rotors ran a different pad at some point
I was thinking that if a red/brown scotch-brite can ‘overwrite’ those scratches, I should be good, as I understand those pads are not aggressive enough to damage the rotor.
would this be a fair assumption?
Hey all.
I recently got a set of brembos and 15” rotors, locally, pretty good condition, LOTS of life left on pads.
Tonight, I decided to clean the rotors, and noticed a little bit of rust, so I pulled out my drill and a paint/rust removal wheel had laying around. After a couple of minutes, I...
Hopefully the Bullitt Brembos arrive tomorrow. (well, one arrived at the dealership today, the other should arrive tomorrow)
So, from a light research, I’ve come to the conclusion that PowerStop = bad; Centric = good; Stop tech = also good. Is this accurate? If so, does Centric still make...
What about rear brakes? I might have a warped rotor (can't see any warping, but my car started vibrating while braking), so was thinking of upgrading rear rotors too, and might as well get a set of rear calipers to paint them.
What about pads for the rear?
Yeah, already bought Gorilla ones a couple of months ago, since my oem ones got destroyed at a shop.
I typically torque wheels to spacers, and spacers to hubs at 140. I did remove the spacers for the last track day, but that might also be overkill (either way, I’m planning on getting a set of...
Thanks for the reply.
1 - When I say thanks to Levittown I meant because they have the kit with the needed parts list. I haven't spoken with them; however, I paid SIGNIFICANTLY less than what they're asking (which is already a great price by itself)
2 - Fair enough, I was trying to avoid the...
I'm in the market for upgrading my 17 GT brakes after tracking my car a couple of months ago. To be fair, my GT is my daily driver, and I'm only planning on tracking it every couple of months.
Out of curiosity, today I called my local dealer asking for the Bullitt brembos, gave them the PNs...
Based on the rear, those don't look like the Continental 4 pistons found on non-PP GTs, plus yeah, the GT ones have pistons on the front as well.
My guess is the OEM V6/EB caliper.
Quick update, left the positive terminal of the battery unplugged for a couple of hours. Nothing change. Not even a clock reset.
I'll try later with both terminals unplugged.
I'll also try new bulbs, since it's a 2017 car I suspect they are probably going to go bad soon.
Hey peeps.
I hope I posted this in the right sub-forum.
[2017 GT Premium - 33k miles] I just got my car back from a 2 month stay at the body-shop, and noticed that the driver-side, front turn signal light is not blinking, but both bulbs inside the housing are on. Same goes for when locking the...
Well, this poor car has lived in Florida, Puerto Rico and Maryland. Can't attest to where in FL, but in PR and MD it has lived less than 30 minutes away from the beach.
HOWEVER, the rust started appearing this past winter.
Although I understand this also happens in dry non-coastal places too.
I was literally considering this week to start using smell products on mine, since after 4 years and 32k miles, it JUST lost that nice leathery smell to it. Gonna treat the leather interiors next week again, but if the leather smell is completely faded away after that (the car is a bit dirty in...
I did have a paint crack in the trunk, but the dealership turned down that request under the TSB; and started shying away from the perforation warranty.
But in all honesty, I'm not too worried about that, since I got rear ended last month and the body shop said they'll either replace or fix and...
