I have had zero issues with my 2016 MT-82. Feels solid, shifts smooth and strong.
If I had never read about people having issues with their MT-82 transmissions, I would say it is a great transmission.
Hopefully Ford will quickly re-engineer a stronger shift fork design for the 2018.
.
Yes, try reading up on Honda Odyssey transmission issues.
Annoying how many people will only consider a Toyota or Honda. I personally think Mazda makes a better product in general.
I'm loyal to Ford with their Trucks, SUVs...and of course Mustang.
Cars: Mazda.
As others have stated...it's not just "Domestic cars" with dealer or or service issues.
Check out the Volkswagen threads...seems like most of their techs don't know how to work on their overly complicated German engineered vehicles...and charge very high shop rates.
My Mustang hasn't seen...
I've done my own oil changes for many many years on my vehicles. As others have stated:
1. I enjoy it. I actually like working on my cars.
2. I know it's done right
3. Cheaper....therefore easier to justify the extra cost of full synthetic oil.
4. It's a chance to put eyes on...
The Edge Sport is actually a pretty fun CUV to drive. The current Edge Sport has 325hp, 350 ft lbs. The new Ford Edge Sport ST will have 335 hp, 380 ft lb with an 8 speed auto.
The Fusion Sport has a great power train...the car is just outdated everywhere else.
Ford stopped investing in...
The move will be smart in the sense that Ford has backed themselves into this corner.
They have to drop the revenue sucking products, in which they don't compete very well in right now.
Fiesta: Who in the USA buys a Fiesta?
Focus: ST is nice....BUT, next generation Focus is going to be...
What do you drive now?
I'd recommend giving yourself some time with it stock.
Learn the cars characteristics, handeling dynamics, noises, etc.
Then you'll be in a better position to know what you want in terms of mods. What you want to improve vs what items are just fine stock.
Then spend...
I think you might be bored if you go with the touring mufflers? I know I would.
I vote you stick with the S-type. It's really not that loud.
search youtube "cjponyparts borla s-type" for some good sound clips.
I've got the Borla S-type mufflers with an X-pipe.
The car is perfect in my opinion...which is this:
1. Nice aggressive cold start...but not so much that you'll feel like you're trying too hard to get noticed. Just sounds nice and authoritative. I smile every time I start my car.
2. No...
This is why the Camaro has been winning most car magazine comparisons, but Mustang has been killing the Camaro in monthly sales recently.
The Mustang is a better real world car. If you want those extreme HP numbers for pure performance, the 5.0L responds to mods very well. So you can have...
The freeways in Texas are typically posted with 70 to 75 mph speed limits. So people drive 80 mph.
The toll roads are posted with a 80mph limit...with some sections having a posted 85mph limit.
My car sees extended 80 mph on most trips. Cruising 80 mph....I'll get an honest 22 mpg no problem...
That is a good question.
The only thing I can find searching online is discussion about front spoiler damage prevention....ie the more extreme angles if loaded and unloaded onto the top level.
Backwards is to prevent front spoiler damage? That's the only thing I can find.
I read a general guide...
Little to zero inspiration. Looks cheap and very uninspiring....
the front fascia looks like something you could probably find on ebay from a Chinese vendor ($199 shipped).
Saleen has all but shriveled up and died.
I've got the Ford Performance version, and like it.
But for the money, if I was to buy again, I'd get the Steeda or J&M X-pipe.

Or, the hotpart.com (J&M) version...
Keeping most of the oil out of your intake is probably beneficial, if not only to keep your throttle body & intake manifold cleaner. BUT you are adding a maintenance item....which is probably why Ford (or any other manufacturer) doesn't install them from the factory.
I just empty mine every...
