Anybody messing with Carduino or CANBUS type gauges? I've stumbled upon a few projects, I don't necessarily want to get into coding to have it (like writing software for an app to configure a display etc) but I'd really like to have data available all the time at higher rates than the low...
Message DSG Performance, they're in Hurst now, but he does deals on good stuff time to time. I've got some JBAs on my car right now, wrong move, so I'm waiting on them to run that deal again.
Yeah my tune starts to pull timing around 150°F, this morning I was able to pull 2nd, 3rd, got into 4th gear and I was at 150°F when I let off. In the afternoons or evening with ambient temps around 100°F it'll hit 150°F somewhere in 3rd gear. (MT82)
When my pump failed I had it replaced with a GT500 pump along with replacing the "phase 2" heat exchanger with the department of boost one, made very little if any difference over stock. Just get a chiller a system. It's absolutely required to make the Roush kit make power for more than 10...
Are these "dimmed" compared to the stock reds when just running lights are on?
What color are the turn signals?
If the turn signals light up amber and they don't look like someone tinted stock lights at night I'd like to get these from you. I'm in DFW.
Would appreciate a clip. Hopefully there's a barking dog for reference or something lol. Curious about cold start. I'll get "mid pipes" made or something, the system comes with the resonator portion right? Mine would be on an 18 but hopefully sound would be similar. (Single vs dual exit mufflers)
Pretty much my setup, but dingbat bent 2.5" tubing from the 3" header to the 3" catback connection. Don't go to that "cheap shop" running out of a bay of another business.
Not scientific by any means but that resonator is a restriction at idle with a PD blower. I have a slight leak at weld from the connection pipes, that leak sound got much louder after the resonator install (replaced 3" MBRP H pipe) even at idle, but the exhaust volume output dropped...
Mine puts on a message I have to acknowledge to go away, shows a fuel icon, and turns the fuel gauge bar orange... usually right at a quarter tank with 50 miles to E. How did that sneak up on you? lol
pool noodles cuts the volume A LOT. I did that short term. PITA though. Much money later it's tolerable now. I'll probably have cold start features disabled next tune revision though.
If Ford has kept up with everyone else, the AC compressor doesn't get turned on and off anymore, it's a variable pump that flows more or less. Old days a certain load request (or RPM) would shut it off, and they still do that by destroking the pump. That said, the car moves a lot more air over...
Like Rolls said, it's a gimmick. Back in the day when you wanted top end power you traded idle stability. Today you can get the best of both worlds with variable cams. Back in the day the chop was a side effect you'd need to deal with, but everyone knew your car wasn't stock. Now you can...
Yes, please share what's even quieter, lol.
I'm running LTH and it was stupidly loud with the system I had, sounded better with the MBRP street version, but I ended up getting tolerable volume using that Borla resonator, but they made 2.5" piping off my 3" headers to go to it. I want to fix...
I wouldn't worry about it stock. My car is boosted, so vents more, and when it was all apart (blew up) the SC cooler was full of oil. I had one on my VW but it was DI only, so it caused carbon deposit build up on intake valves, your car has port injectors to clean that off if you drive it right...
To be fair though, these cars almost drive themselves too. My daily is a '95 Ranger with a 5 speed, switching between it and the Mustang really makes you appreciate what we can do with computers these days. (Hill hold assist, automatic rev matching on downshifts, anti stall logic..)
Yes you...
Without knowing how the stock setup worked for sure, I think that's the best route for me to take. Maybe later run a line from the bottom of the can to sump so it's not a maintenance item.
Your car appreciates you getting to operating temps . In your situation, you're probably...
All 3 of the cars in your profile came this way, didn't they? The fob just happens to also house the key.. You still need to remember to grab "the thing", what's different about what you're trying to do?
How does the PCV system function when your intake manifold is a blower? My car has the Roush kit. My mechanic suggested getting rid of the PCV system due to how dirty the superchargers heat exchanger was. Right now I'm venting to atmosphere with small filters on each side. Car has been this...
