I'm trying to put rear springs in but I've been unsuccessful with following the videos showing unbolting and dropping one side of the subframe (I don't have a 280lb friend). It seems like its the sway bar that's preventing pushing the arm down. If I disconnect the sway bar though, whats holding...
I've had no luck doing just two springs either. What does "realigning the sub frame" involve? Is that something I can do, or do I have to take it to a shop.
If you want to drive a car around a track, then get the car where the extra 15 to 25 goes into the technology in the car, instead of the dealers pocket. If you want a car for investment purposes then get the "rare" one, and let the dealer "arbitrage" 15 to 25 upfront.
I've got a GT PP and I've done one track day and would like to do maybe two HPDE per year. I've got 295 R888's on the front and 325 on the rear. I'm thinking I'd need some pads that I can just put on for race days. So the DD pads and race pads need to be "compatible" or something? Can you guys...
Re: what's the purpose...
Pull enough sideways g in a long corner and your oil pickup can starve making for much sadness. I doubt I'll manage that without downforce, but my porsche buddy is convinced that I'm going to blow my engine with just sticky R888s, even at button willow or willow...
I've got 295&325 R888s, along with coil overs and some BMR sway bars, so I'm thinking that a race oil pan is in my future. Is an oil pan upgrade pretty straight forward thing to swap? My google-fu is weak. Which oil pan is good for a 2016 Coyote?
Well, I love Ford, so the feeling will be mutual :ford:
But yeah, this is my first time. I'm sure after a few times on the stands I'll be like 'f*** it'.
Ok, so with the help of a nice fellow at the dealership I found fordparts.com and figured out that they do actually show all the different nuts and bolts on the diagram with options to buy them. $7 for a nut seems a bit steep tho.
Got some coilovers to put on and I've decided to try and do it myself. Bought one of those $30 repair manuals. It says some of the nuts need throwing away after taking off. But it doesn't list part numbers. Awesome. So is there a real manual I need to buy? One that actually lists part numbers? I...
You still look like you're sticking out an inch in your profile pic, and those great pics above. Looks like you'd slice them in half if you hit a bump or take a corner fast. What am I missing?
There's also these threads in the Tires/Rims section. Not racing specific, but..
