  1. The Engine Break-In Debate

True and very close. Okay my bad for not better supporting my memory banks.....looks indeed there are more parts than instant seating piston rings.... Bolding parts about supporting the notion that hundreds and thousands of miles are needed to break-in gears, best, as in I guess, ideal-world...
  2. The Engine Break-In Debate

How about the Q&A on breaking in Gears? The ring and pinion guys mentioned going easy for a few hundred miles to micro-polishe the faces of the gears where they touch one another to reduce friction and thus increase gear life because they retain their intended tolerances. Ring and pinion...
  3. Do you want Black Rims with your Performance Package?

The GT PP wheels are fine. They have more spokes and the spokes are evenly spaced where they connect to the rim.... That might not matter, but it should help lighten the wheels up.
  4. 2015 Ford Mustang Order Guide (U.S. and Canada)

I am really disappointed 300A does not get selectable drive modes such as with Performance Pack :-( I truely do not understand the business sense in why a "performance" pack doesn't have all the "performance" provided by the selectable drive modes. ?? The GT PP wheels are fine plus I like the...
  5. S550 Chassis School

The bulkhead/firewall looks asymmetrical? I thought all the sheet metal needs to be symmetrical for RHD LHD?
  6. S550 Chassis School

Adding NVH into the rear helps balance the feel and feedback to the driver to match what they sense from the steering wheel.
  7. Poll: Most likely to purchase of Rampant's aftermarket kits

The aero wheel curtains are 1 of 5 elements that work together for a 3% total aero improvement. They and mirrors are in all models. The other three vary by the purpose targeted by the intent of the model. For instance the performance pack brake cooling ducts are not visible from the traditional...

  10. 2015 Mustang Options/Pricing/Codes in Order Banks (Shelby Model Shown!)

Just do not say "what is your markup?". All that would do is provide a false signal to price gouge.
  11. 2015 Mustang Options/Pricing/Codes in Order Banks (Shelby Model Shown!)

Dealers elect to participate in x-plan. Bottom line. Some have been known to provide X on the so-called ineligible products. Sorry I am not the one that has experience with X given on ineligibles.
  12. 2015 Mustang Options/Pricing/Codes in Order Banks (Shelby Model Shown!)

To be clear that is not okay to exclude the 4th toggle "mode" button from a Base GT with all available "Performance" items like the Performance pack, Torsen and Recaros. Just saying that since the mustang is marketed as "performance" vehicle that it should provide all the "performance"...
  13. 2015 Mustang Options/Pricing/Codes in Order Banks (Shelby Model Shown!)

Did the "Mode" 4th toggle switch and the "Track Apps" appear on a Base GT to round out the purpose of PP, Recaro, and Torsen.
  14. S550 Chassis School

While the "chassis" thoughts percolate, let's swing over to the suspension topic. Any thoughts about distinguishing what is the stunt frame (red line), from what might be actual suspension mounting frame (blue line)?
  15. S550 Chassis School

Maybe it has been a long day but that S197 pic reminds me how big a delta it made from the Fox 3!! Thanks to the Empire stunt cuts ups, we are zeroing in on elusive uni-body data despite there is a rare few who will deal with the difficulty of modifying it with cutters and welders. We need...
  16. S550 Chassis School

The only trouble with the Mustang is it is missing a 3rd seat belt back there... ... I know....
  17. S550 Chassis School

Yes indeed. I bet the coupe/fastback keeps everything related to rigidity in the unibody department because Ford is out of the after though convertible chassis hack business. One example is the left-right channels in the vert's rear deck/package/speaker tray.
  18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Happy birthday Mustang on your big 5 0 !
  19. S550 Chassis School

Monocoque is normally about the outer skin being responsible for holding everything together such as a rocket or an airplane per wiki, where this still is a unibody. Sure it looks like the force load paths are improving since decades ago, but it still is a unibody since the old days are still...
