I'm gonna go "custom" on the exhaust.
BBK shorties plus x pipe plus glass packs plus muffler deletes.
Not sure on intake yet. The few that are out are priced pretty... optimistic... let's call it.
Might just get a high flow drop in and cut some breathing holes or something.
Yeah, for sure.
I am fairly confident that I will get this car closer to 5.0 before summer hits ;)
I've got big meaty tires coming that give me traction AND a 6% ratio improvement.
Next in line would be a tune and exhaust / intake.
FYI - My wheels got ordered this weekend.
I did a bunch of measurements and compared lots of pics / setups and ran the math through the size calc. I think I can make them work, but just barely.
Expect pics of a REALLY aggressive fitment next week.
My best had some, yes, but I am saying that with all things being equal (even the spin in 1st) I could shave some tenths if it wasn't for the retarded throttle response...
Betcha it could do 5.6 with a proper smooth 1-2 shift...
Tried shifting as fast as possible, tried WOT shifting it etc. Makes no difference to how the car acts after the shift. It just falls on its face. Hate that crap.
Maybe the tune can fix that?
Fwiw. I bought a brand new brz last year and supercharged it within 800 miles...
Really not a big deal. Plus, you can take it off prior to selling the car.
Can't manage anything under a 5.8 in my bone stock stick car.
2 problems: i can only launch the car VERY mild if i don't want to spin and the computer doesn't seem to like a quick shift into second, because the car always bogs and doesn't pick up throttle the way i would expect it to.
Nothing...
My point exactly.
Wheels / tires / spring and at low speed handling stuff (AutoX) there is NO reason the V6 shouldn't be the quickest out of the bunch.
I can afford a GT just fine as well, but this is a daily, not a toy for me.
And had I gotten the GT, I know I wouldn't have been able to use it during winter...
Just due to emotional gripes. haha
