Awesome, another tech on the track! I definitely recommend changing the diff oil as mine looked murky and dark black after 1 autocross and 2 track sessions.
Excellent! I ended up turning the pump on most every highway commute this summer and so plan to put a switch in the same spot, also with an LED to indicate it is on.
I also changed out the differential oil, and it looked pretty bad after 9600 miles, 2 track events, and 1 autocross. I plan to...
Well, it is hard to compare pump noise levels. I can hear my RB Racing pump at idle but not when I am driving nor listening to music. I like hearing it to know that is working but can get annoying when I am parked but I turn it off pretty much at that point anyway. I have not moved the switch...
This week I had a blast getting in 3 sessions at Track Night by Tire Rack and driving to over 12,000 feet at Rocky Mtn NP. And I hit the 10K milestone enjoying the hell out of this car!
I only had to remove 4 screws and a couple of plastic push pins. The dealer apparently left out the other screws, but I have scraped plenty of times without any issues. I just searched for a youtube of splitter install to figure out the screw locations. You don't need to mess with all the...
Yes, it can be done with basic tools. It came down to having the right size wrenches and sockets. The splash guard and splitter took me a couple of hours mainly to find all the screws and push pins. I could do it a lot faster now. Also, attach both ends of the splash guard before attaching...
Let me offer a counterpoint to the used '16 Tech experience. I bought mine 1 year with 4900 miles and have had 0 problems (now at 9600 miles). From the Carfax report, I could see the original owner bought the car on the other side of the country and so a lot of the miles came from highway...
Thanks Hack, I should have realized that. From an old post, I wrote down that the differential would could cause limp mode at 250F for 30s, or 265F for 5s. But cars with temperature sensors also have a cooler and so should never get that hot. I guess I should add a differential cooler if I am...

I have not yet decided on adding a differential cooler. Everything I have heard so far is that it is not near as critical as the transmission cooler. I pushed the car pretty hard on a hot day and did not hit limp...
Yes, it was a blast! I summarized my build and first track test at the link below. I wore myself out and ran out of gas on a 90F day. The car ran perfectly. I also run the pump on the highway on hot days to keep the transmission below 200F...
This forum is extremely helpful. Before the GT350, I never got under a car. The first time I ever did an oil change, exhaust modification and now the cooler addition was all on my GT350. Here is my installation info, hopefully it helps others.
Below are the parts I used. This kind of...
I used an 8AN to 1/2" adapter plus a 90 degree hose end - part numbers are below. The fill area is pretty tight so put the adapter on first, then connect the 90 degree hose end.

I just connected the 8AN hose directly to the Ford radiator with a clamp and Gates 32915 PowerGrip Hose Clamp. You need a larger diameter Gates clamp to get over the lip of the radiator connector . I think the clamp with the connector lip is pretty good though.
You don't need the whole kit, just get the radiator, air scoop, and associated bolts.
Mike R at Autonation Ford White Bear Lake can set you up - he got the right parts for me. Then finish the job using 8AN hose and an external pump. I just finished mine this past weekend and will post a...
I bought my '16 Tech with 4900 miles last August from a Porsche dealer. The original buyer bought it from a dealer in Florida in February and drove it back to Colorado. The car came with protective film but no owners kit. I did get the oil change kit recently though. I paid about $1k below...
The Shelby Collection in Boulder is having another raffle but this time it is an R. The drawing is Sept 2. It desperately needs to be driven after sitting in their showroom all year!

I just found this inline thermostat switch controller. It is targeted at fans but handles up to 15A so could work with a pump. Turn on is 180F and turn off is 165F. Could this work if placed right at the transmission drain connection...
I have been investigating the same issue without success. So I am planning on putting a switch inside the car with the following strategy:
- for short drives around town, the trans does not need cooling.
- for longer drives, like on the highway to work, I will turn on the pump.
- And by having...
I bought my car used and recently got mine. I then used it to change the oil on my car - it was my first time. I hope to get less oil on myself next time!
