I did change out my stock pads for Hawk DTC-60s and then it started doing it, so that is probably what's up. I will have to lube up the ends of the pads and see if that helps.
I really need to upgrade the rear calipers to the 4 piston Brembo's.. those 1 piston Akebonos really need to be put out...
I will have to let others respond who have successfully dealt with the clicking problem.. my car is still having this issue, I just haven't gotten around to looking at it since it is coldy-shivery-gonna-die-of-frostbite time at my house 🥶
Is it happening from a standstill? You start rolling and then you hear (and maybe even feel) a "click" coming from the driver side rear?
I am having that problem in my 2018 GT, and from my research, it is a sticky wheel hub.
I had the privilege of seeing one of these at the monthly Carolina Regional Mustang Club meeting on December 6th in Matthews, NC. I would have bought it right on the spot if I had the money!
They were meticulously maintained, and already have roll cages and rear seat deletes that are NOT cheap...
You are 100% correct to have him on your list. A good buddy of mine has a horror story about wasting money on a Ben Calimer rebuild on an MT-82. It broke within a week while doing nothing more than easy peasy break in miles... no hard pulls. Calimer would not help him at all. It was a lot of...
I agree, and firmly believe that Ford missed the mark with the 24. They should have created a much better chassis... but I'm sure the bean counters were not going to let that happen.
I live near HMS Motorsport in Mooresville, NC and have toured their factory.
They sell Schroth harnesses and Joe, the owner, was demonstrating how the Quick Fit Pro harnesses provide anti submarining features without requiring the anti-submarine crotch belt.
The top part of the harness has a...
Yes, what NGOT8R said! You have to make a slight modification to the kick panel, but nobody will ever see it. They work perfectly. my 2018 GT has the Recaro seats, so they go through the harness slots. If I forget the close the door after I'm all buckled in... I have to ask someone else to close...
I bought my 2018 GT from a guy who would buy wrecked/salvage title cars and fix them up and sell them as a hobby. He was an older retired Duke engineer. It's a fun track car, so the title status was/is not important to me... just that it was fixed up properly and would run great on the track...
There are a number of us on here that can help you with decisions... I'm trying to figure out what your end goal is. Are you going to terrorize other drivers on the streets? Are you going to the drag strip? Are you going to the road course? Is it just for the Lulz?
If Ford would have made the Ford GT a $150k car, they'd not be able to make enough of them... but instead they made it $500k and I have never seen one in person. Good job, Ford.
I believe that Mustangs aren't selling as well for these 3 reasons:
Ford dealers are raping people's wallets, so people said "Nope" and walked away
Inflation hasn't been this bad since 1982, so people said "Nope" and walked away
The S650 is coming out so people are waiting to buy it instead
I have a 2018 GT and the transmission gearing is wider than in the 2015-2017, so 4th is 1:1 in my car where it is 5th that is 1:1 in the 2015-2017... so it takes a really long time to gain speed if I leave my car in 3rd coming out of Oak Tree. 2nd gear is *much* better!
From the prices that I...
Yeah this is where I was last weekend and really struggled through Oak Tree. You have to feather the brake pedal through there and downshift from 3 -> 2, and it's very difficult.
Oh wow, I just watched your video and realized that you were there too! 😊
