You have the V1 brackets and they are are installed correctly. Some customers are having alignment issues with our V2 brackets on the passenger side with the washer hose hole.

No, it will not affect performance as the gas spring end fitting can swivel on the ball stud. :thumbsup:

The battery cover can be rotated out of the way without removing the gas spring for battery access, but it is a little more tedious. We recommend cutting a small slit in the battery cover if you think you will frequently need access to the battery (see picture below).
