My experience is, when shifting from 2nd into 3rd, it doesn't naturally hit the 3rd gear slot. My shifter always tends to hit between 1st and 3rd naturally. Just take extra care to hit 3rd when you are shifting fast under power. No issues with 1st to 2nd, I'm guilty of slamming that shift too :)
Heavy side of tires is usually marked with a colored dot, but wheels for the most part are not (is my understanding). It may be a bad coincidence of having the heavy side of the tire mounted on the heavy side of the wheel. Most shops mount the dot opposite the valve and expect that to...
I wish there was something like that near me- would've sent my wife and kids. I like that it describes the differences of how fwd, awd and rwd perform during a skid. When you drift, you don't want understeer or oversteer. You want your front wheels pointed in the direction you want to go and...
My advice is don't learn how to drift in your Mustang- it could be expensive if you mess up, and while you're learning you probably will a few times. I learned when I was 16 in a beat up '66 Fairlane on the salt flats in Nevada.
It takes a while to get a feel for it, but once you do it's like...
Reminds me of the time I pulled up to a stop light beside a Prius in my loud cammed supercharged S197- we glanced at each other with the same look of total disgust :)
I owned eight A body GM muscle cars over the years, but got tired of dealing with old plastic and rubber.
My first Mustang GT:
Mach1 tribute, Vortec V2, Snow meth injection- dyno'd 522 hp at the wheels.
I sold it to get what I have now:Has exhaust, catch can and cosmetic mods. No plans to...
If I were racing it would be HP > Tone. An X-Pipe flows better, but HP gain is minimal, and I would never notice it because I don't race. I did, however, notice that I like the sound of an H-Pipe over an X-Pipe, so I have an H-Pipe. It depends on what your priorities are.
Interesting- I've owned several muscle cars over the years, and they all had me counter-steering clockwise when they broke loose. I guess as long as you know what your ride is gonna do... :)
Realized why as I was driving today- roads are crowned to shed water, so it steps out downhill.
What do you do when you drive that makes you smile when you think about it later?
First gear at 3/4 throttle up to ~7k rpm, smooth shift into 2nd letting rpms freefall to that perfect spot then: shift and wot. Back end steps out to the right just for 20 feet or so at ~50mph. If I would've...
I obsess over exhaust tone. Literally tried twelve different catbacks on my S197 before I found something I liked.
Didn't like the tone of the stock exhaust on my 2018 GT so I started cheap with the MBRP Street catbacks- it actually had a good tone to my ear, but was a little loud and raspy on...
When I cruise to this one, I run the risk of getting caught speeding. Hold down traction switch for 15 seconds hit play and begin run:
If I start it when I start lake road run, I know it was a good one if it's ending when I turn back out on the main road :)
2018 GT 6 speed owner- personally, if I paid>$70k for a car, I would have a very hard time doing that major of a mod.
When I bought this car, I was fully aware of all the advantages I was missing with the A10, but there was no question for me to go with the manual.
IMO automatics I have...
I run MBRP Street Catbacks.
They never had any drone, but were slightly raspy to my ear, so I installed a couple 18"x3" glasspacks after the H-Pipe- it cut out the rasp and gave the overall tone a nice bass note. The glasspacks didn't seem to affect loudness much at all. Exhaust tone is...
Haha that's what I get for not reading the whole thread before I post a comment - after reading through, it looks like Ryobi isn't the best option anyway.
Ryobi makes an attachment for pressure washers: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-Pressure-Washer-Water-Broom-RY31211/300701617 - you can adjust it to spray pointing up and roll it under...you may want to roll it under before you start spraying tho... :)
Haha that was the pic I took after my first cosmetic mods- lowering springs, new wheels, tires and lugs. I'm going to take some new glamour shots out at the park this spring-
Now has black hood vents and an FPP M-16600-FP GT500 spoiler :)
