I wouldn't recommend installing just an Xpipe with the stock mufflers. It will sound very raspy. I was planning to do this but hated the way it sounded. I think the manaflow street or Borla Touring would be exactly what you are looking for as far as sound.
This is so awesome. I'm glad you shared this with us. Very Very rare that people share tuning secrets in the car community (Sucks I know). I have no reason to believe your theory is wrong. I'm wondering how much work it will be to dial in the VCT tables for a new intake manifold. I'm looking to...
So maybe with a better intake manifold you can prevent the intake cam retarding later in the RPM to shift peak power? I think that make sense. I agree with you. It seems many people haven't figured this out. I agree with you though. Overlap should be beneficial to the 2015 as previous years...
This is interesting stuff. Are you able to adjust valve overlap in the tune to get some extra power? Or are you still searching to see if that can happen with a better intake manifold?
yes I agree. Maybe I would equate this issue to the clunking of the Mt82 in the mustang? I never really payed much attention since I don't plan to drop 80k on a z06 anytime soon.
Not to start a war about this but I just googled z06 heat soak issue and was reading a few threads on various forums. Many z06 owners feel it is myth and not all that common (some even had heavy track use). I would link a few post here but this site doesn't allow that sort of thing.
depends on their goals but yes, I agree generally with that. If you are looking to maximize performance for Auto X or road racing, weight reduction is probably your best bet along with tires. I don't think I would spend much time tinkering with intake manifolds, heads, cams etc, at that point.
Are you saying a car with a PD supercharger setup will have major heatsoak issues? Does the Z06 have heatsoak issues around the track? I don't think you can make a statement like this. I highly doubt all FI setups on a mustang suffer heatsoak and IAT issues. Yes you are correct there is some...
are you planning to do engine mounts or cut your hood to fit this? I was curious if removing the emblem and ribbing on the top of the manfiold would make it fit. Sorry I don't have any tips for you on the installation. Something like that I would have to see in person to give you any advice. Or...
Usually you can tune out Rear o2 sensors so you don't trigger CELs from running no cats. Not sure if It can be done on the mustang but I have done it on my s4. I passed NYS inspection no problem.
I usually go to the track in late October early November when its in the 40s so I rarely have this problem.Track is usually empty during those times as well so I'm rarely sitting in the staging lanes. It would be more of a concern with every day use in the summer time for me.
