Never overheated before but this was my first time at the track. I wish i had baseline but i know for sure the diff is running 50 degrees cooler with the sheild on the streets.
Differential didn't overheat at the track, it was hovering around 200 degrees based on the digital read out on the dash. Here are some factors to consider, i was pushing the car maybe 70% and outside temps were around 55 degrees. My car is bone stock.
I just installed the thermotec heatshield. I'll be tracking the next weekend at Buttonwillow, I'll let you guys know how well it works. Here are some photos.
UPDATE: I've been hearing a rubbing noise when hitting a bump during turns (left or right). I haven't pinpointed the area but I'm pretty sure it is rubbing on the top part of the fender. My alignment is currently stock.
This was my concern, too. I did a little research on 6G and found some guys that have swapped with no issues. I haven't experienced any rubbing in the front so far. There's a member that has a lowered pp2 with 305/35/19 so i think we're good.
Nah brother, tires are still pretty much brand new haha. The car is a daily so i wanted a little more ground clearance and supple ride. The 305/35/19 super sports have accomplished both!
Just swapped out the pilot sport cup 2s after a thousand miles to Michelin pilot super sport 305/35/19. I'm liking the extra .5 inch of ground clearance and a less jarring ride. The Cup 2s definitely respond better in turns.
I just watched the American Muscle video on how to install the Blowfish bracket. I dont think it will fit based on this new damper Ford installed. I too just purchased the bracket, i guess I'll be returning it. Here's the link, start at 3:45.
Thanks for all the responses. The options on this gt premium are, pp2, ae, recaros, 401a, and security. It comes out to roughly $52k. I can get $7,500 off MSRP but then the 0% will not apply. I've checked out of state and the deals are better but they don't offer the 0% financing. The best CU...
Hey guys and gals, just want to get your thoughts on this deal. I have an offer for a new 2019 GT premium w/ pp2 package with a MSRP of $52,000 for 47,000 plus 0% for 60 months. The $47k does not include ttl. This deal is in California. Good or bad deal?
Thanks in advance!
