The connector that is in the r/f kick panel has the wires leading to the rear speaker. I just stripped back some of the insulation and soldered my wires going to the subwoofer.

I used a Kenwood KSC-SW11 powered sub. Mounted it under the passenger seat and tapped into the rear speaker wiring in the l/f kick panel. Took about 4 hours to install. Very impressed how much it changed the overall sound of the system. Think I Paid about $160 for the unit.

I believe there is a Ford service message on this problem. SSM45895 Vehicles built before 4/22/2015 need to have the BCMB updated with the latest calibration. Your dealer should be able to repair it with the software update.

Same thing happened to me on Monday. The screen was blank but showed a date of 03-03-2000. After about 30 minutes it started to work again. When I spoke to one of the Tech's at the dealer he had no explanation for it.
