It ran in late 2015 after the big repaving that happened in 2014 so it took full advantage of the widening . The facts stand as they are that the motortrend CFTP 500 time is faster than the factory ACR time on the same VIR course.
You obviously have come to a conclusion irregardless of what anyone shows you . That was after the first repaving , after oak tree went down that curbing was changed additionally which does make a difference yes but not a full second . The fact still stands that an ACR has not run a faster time...
As far as I could tell the only identifiable pictures from the outside that had a cage showed the CFTP , both are red so no way to be sure I suppose with the inside only pics . My point stands though the cage didn’t
make the car faster , just safer . Certainly didn’t make my lap times faster...
Nope not the first , the GT2RS recently tested had one as well . It is becoming needed safety wise now that cars are reaching these speeds . This isn’t a E30 BMW , the cage has zero effect on the chassis performance as it is already immensely rigid , and it does add a significant weight penalty...
I think warranty is out the window with rpms over 8k lol. I would rather make the same power at 7500 with a pulley. Will be a lot more reliable long term than running extra aggressive timing at high rpms and you will get more midrange .
Again I’m super happy with how the 500 performed and I’m buying a CFTP , but um the C7 Z06 Z07 already is faster at VIR full than the CFTP .....
Jim Mero their development engineer ( not a pro but fast ) ran a 1:53.x in it at VIR full . I wouldn’t go throwing the gauntlet at the not finished C8...
