The rear tires on that car are not sport cup 2'
The rear tires on the car pictured are Goodyear Supercar 3R's they look like that brand new, they are essentially slicks. Since they had at least two camaros in this video are we sure this is the actual car that set the lap time? Again horrible...
We already know that penalty from the VIR test . Base 500 hit 168 mph on the straight vs the CFTP hitting 166.x mph . It’s an efficient wing vs the spoiler on the handling package base car so lots more downforce with a smaller increase in drag than a big spoiler .
An “All season” , pulling 1.17 G’s and running with GT3 RS’s and being within .1 seconds of the 1LE on an autocross course . The car throttle test car had no front aero , rear wing in low downforce “ street position “ position and toasted tires and still only was .9 seconds off . Piece of shit...
From watching the video 500 did not have its wing in the track position and did not have its CFTP front aero on either .... poor job by Ford all the way around .
Throttle house actually posted in the camaro forums lol. He said they received the car from Ford with shot tires and didn’t have time or money to rectify since they had gotten insurance and flown Jason and Randy in .
Actually the biggest difference was the Cup2R's were on the 3RS for the lightning lap which was the cause for the majority of the delta between it and the 1LE.

Mine were on corner balance scales so I def trust it as accurate , but yes I went with a radio and AC lol and even had all the trunk junk in . Also find it best to do with a full tank as it takes any “ almost” 1/2 tank variance out.
Having owned one yes you still do . That’s how you get to be able to afford it lol. Double the cost and half the life isn’t a good deal for anyone . Not even for .5 seconds per kilometer . The Cup 2 R Tire exists solely for magazine racers bragging rights as a cheater compound for tests .
Its a 900 dollar a piece tire, and every RS does not come on them . Look at 3RS lap times in other tests on the Cup R (which is how Porsche sent it to be tested of course!) Crazy fast times that the 500 can't come close to based on the VIR grand time of 2:41 in the LL the 3RS put down by...
Wouldn’t be click bait as it would have killed it , same with the 3RS on the Cup R’s wouldn’t have been close then . Remember on those literal race tires the 3RS ran a 6:56 at the ring ... this was well strategized for maximum clicks lol . I want to see the ZL1 1LE vs the 500 CFTP already on a...
Correct , this was a private car not from Porsche . Let’s all be real it isn’t likely at all that it’s slower than a 500 on any tire given it’s performance at known tracks on the R compound . Makes sense it would be slower on another tire, and that a owner wouldn’t be throwing on 900 dollar...
The R must have been on regular Cup 2’s it was an individuals car not from Porsche . I wouldn’t pay 900 a tire either fir the R’s lol . No way it’s slower than a 350R anywhere on the same tire . A cup 2R would worth over 2 seconds on that track , it is literally the racing slick compound and...
