I am entertaining the TH400 route after grenading my 4th gear at SCT this last weekend.
Anything come up during the install to look out for jayman33 ?
I've heard conflicting stories about how to hook up the speed sensor so the speedo works, any tips?
And finally, gearing. I'm a centri...
Not saying it's impossible, I've seen auto Paxton cars with a 3.33 on E85 run 145-146. But they are also lightened base model cars and had a little slower 60's and are spinning to 7900 RPM.
I put a ported Boss on my Paxton car and it's the bees knees.
Previously I made 850/622 revving to 7500 and making 15psi with headers, 3.33 pulley and E85. My MAF LB/min would max the PID at 7050 RPM with this combo.
After the boss 302, the rev limit is upped to 7900, car still makes 15psi...
The GT350 and GT control the pumps differently. The GT350 pumps should be externally regulated as in the GT350 they use FRP to vary the voltage to the pumps. The GT does not have this ability.
You can run two FPDM's or wire the GT350 pumps like you would any other return style system and use...
How'd it go? I've had some small setbacks, well not really setbacks, just added some stuff. I'm wanting to try and get out to the track Friday and get some runs in. I added a B302 intake and 500 more RPM's to the car so it should be fun!
Fronts with tire are almost 35lbs each. Rears with the 28x11.5-17 are just shy of 45lbs each. My daily wheels/tires are 50lb each with wheels that weigh 24lbs.
The offset and fitment are dead on with the SSR wheels.
I pull my axles just because I use power tools and I like to inspect everything/lub things when I dig in back there.
However, you can just pull the bolts on the axles, just make sure to loctite them bastards back in there.
As far as the FM, use all 4oz.
I know Beefcake has them on his site.
Also note that Jeg's lists the SSR series of wheels. They have a 17x4.5 ET -24.5 and a 17x8 ET 25.
They come in a Vitesse and Alumastar style. I am test fitting a set tomorrow with a 28X11.5-17 ET Street R Bias.
All 4 wheels were ~$800 @ 199.00 ea.
It removes the ECU from the equation. You can turn all the nannies off and set the RPM to pretty much anything you want, unlike the limited options of the factory launch control.
This is primarily for cars running a super sticky tire that need an aggressive launch.
Launch control works...
I always find myself turning the car to track mode and turning AT completely off every time I drive the car. AT does interfere by pulling a fat gob of timing and the car falls on its face.
With me it's not obvious wheel spin that sets it off. I can be in end gear and gradually roll into WOT...
Looks like it didn’t pull it down bad at all, also looks like you may have spun a bit?
There is a big difference between 4500-5000 on my car. It really hits at 5. I generally roll race starting between 5/5500 and can barely maintain traction. I’m not sure it would go over well from a dig just...
Heard back from Wilwood today.
Good news! They will sell the components, they just don't have them listed on the site. I intend to call them and get more details such as cost and whether or not I can order the part of the mount that connects the caliper to the radial mount adapter.
I can...
I love the aggressiveness of this clutch, lol. Just need to find a tire setting that agrees.
@18 psi I spin these tires on a 60 roll.
I’m guessing they will want <15
I was hoping the 3.15's would give me a little advantage however they may even hurt. I guess I will see.
I've been working on getting this clutch to slip repeatedly. It's just so grippy and has a teeny tiny window to work with at the top of the pedal.
I see lots of practice runs in my future...
