In all fairness that is incorrect. GM set out to save weight on the Corvette while making it a point "NOT" to use materials that would drive the price up. This is something I learned when we took the tour in Bowling Green last month. The car is not laden with expensive weight saving...
Anyone want to take a guess at how much weight the Mustang would lose if all of the body panels were fiberglass? Think that might eat up a good bit of that 377 pound difference between the two?
Let's just do an apples to apples here.
The curb weight of the current S197 2014 Mustang GT is 3675 lbs with an automatic (heaviest).
The curb weight of the all new C7 Corvette is 3298 lbs.
That's a difference of 377 pounds or 1 NFL lineman.
Now keep in mind that the Vette people have...
Even if Ford took what they liked and what worked about the S197 platform and evolved that into the S550 platform it's still a new platform. UOP Shadow brings up the C7 Vette. I've seen the C7 Vette platform in person without any body panels or interior components attached and while it is in...
Probably true, but then car companies say a lot of things. I remember all the hype that Toyota whipped up about the FR-S and as far as I'm concerned it's an all around failure. Overpriced and underpowered with an interior by Fisher Price. Either way, its going to be interesting to see what...
You know what would be funny. They put the new Mustang on a road course and it doesn't outshine the old school live axle Mustang. lol I'd laugh my a** off about that.
lol Sorry buddy. I'm just really unimpressed with this thing. The current car looks worlds better. This thing looks like they took the current Mustang and made it bland. It might as well be a Toyota.
Personally I hope this car is popular as hell. That might drive down the price of a good used 2013 or 2014 model for me because I sure as hell wouldn't buy this vanilla thing.
I don't like it at all. It's ok I guess, but it just doesn't do anything for me. The current car looks better. I'm sure Ford will still sell plenty of them. It just doesn't appeal to me. I don't like the way the headlamps turned out, bad symmetry. The profile shot is ok.
Probably true, lol. Jalopnik is not what I would consider real automotive news anyway. But I saw this article so I thought I would make reference to it.
Jalopnik has posted an article that claims to have everything you need to know about the 2015 Mustang.
The one point I have a problem with is this.
I'm not paying 25 grand for a base model Mustang. The whole point of the Mustang is to be an affordable sports coupe. With a monthly payment...
We recently took the trip to Bowling Green and toured the Corvette factory. While there we got to see the very first convertibles being assembled. Personally I like the Lime Rock Green best but it looks good in every color they offer. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the chrome finish rims...
Actually aside from the over sized rims I really like the way that car looks. And are you really upset about fake scoops on a Mustang? Fake scoops have been on the car for a lot of years lol.
I'm not sure that's the back of the car. If that running horse were located where the current faux gas cap is located then we would be seeing more red beneath it where the bumper area is. Instead it ends abruptly just beneath the horse icon. Has anyone considered that this might in fact be...
I have to agree with JesseFourOh. Without the C-Scoop in the door the render just looks bland from the profile shot to me. I don't think I would buy that. It just looks like "generic two door coupe".
While I don't disagree with your assessment of the Mustang the same could be said about the Corvette or the Camaro. Only the 911 is a car that has changed very little about it's overall appearance over the course of the last 50 years. Heck the modern C7 Corvette looks nothing like a Corvette...

On the internet it's just called being a troll.
There's nothing wrong with spoilers or automatic transmissions if that is what someone wants on their car.
Chaz is right, there is no need to turn this thread into a place to argue about something as silly as a spoiler. Most people who end up...
