Can you send a Picture? or get the number at the bottom of the barcode, I can tell the exact date the engine was built
I am sorry to hear this, I had no thoughts to have them do a buy back, I am not really sure if they would, since they replaced the motor in record time, paid my loaner and installed a "R" motor. I really have no complaints ...

Yes, got some bore scope pictures, I have no Idea what they are looking at but they thought it was pretty bad for only 9000 miles

The Mechanic said it looked like Ring Failure, but could not say for sure unless he were to tear apart the engine...

So from what I have been able to figureout from my data collected is that the two engines are slightly different.

I thought recycled steel is smelted and impurities are removed, from what I have read there are two primary methods of creating steel with reclaimed scrap: through an EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) or BOF (Basic Oxygen Furnace).
In the EAF process, the raw material is almost entirely scrap steel...

if mine is september 2017 and the 2017 was in production for 12 months there are many higher numbers out there
just to reiterate what others have said.
I made the mistake of taking my 2017 on a 800 mi road trip and used cruise control the entire time, to top it off the dealer let the car idle for over an hour when i bought it
this glazed the cylinder walls. in the Ford Mechanics opinion may have caused...

Long story, short, I went to...
Lots of soot on exhaust pipes tips. No Leaks, No smoke on startup. someone noticed when I was at the Track under heavy acceleration there was a puff of smoke
but that was it. My 2017 GT350 used 1 quart ever 120 miles.
There are several Types of engine failures:
1) Rings not seating properly
Symptom - causing excessive oil use
Could Affect - could lead to (2-4) if oil is not checked and gets too low
Prevention - Breaking Engine correctly do not baby it, and limited flogging till first oil change...
