If its your first season of autox dont worry about what class you run, and simply go have fun. And the fact that you are asking what class you are in, this implies that you are new to autox. So go out and have a good time :)
If you want to be competitive, you are better off taking the wheels and...
Mustang GTPP is my DD
JDM 1994 Subaru WRX Wagon is my toy.
Yup, Subie>Mustang. Hate on ;)
Excuse the dirty Subie, have not washed it since the last event from last year and its been in the garage for 6 months
Not really. I run a stock GTPP in FS and the outside of front tires are getting chewed up quite bad.
The front end will benefit greatly from additional camber.
Unfortunate I cant add any front camber due to class regulations due to no from factory camber adjustment.
No pictures from this event, but great success overall :-)
Finally getting comfortable with the car and am starting to put down some decent times. Unfortunate what felt as my fastest run didnt get a time due to timing issues associated with a car in front of me :-/
1st in FS out of 9 cars, only...
Cobeau is a "ok" at best seat. I find them to be made cheap and use low quality fabrics, as a result the seats are very low price. Another issue with them is they seem to have padding where you dont want it, and none where you actually need it. Also Corbeau US (not to be confused with Corbeau...
GT PP I run at 38PSI front and 36PSI rear hot. Lower then that on the front and the front end wipes out, much more then that and the tire gives out quickly. On the rear, that was about the best balance to hold traction without having to much sidewall flex.
Another member is having the same issue as well which is strange, I wonder if it is associated with premium models.
Reason I say that it might be premium model issue as on my base GT if I turn off advance trac there is 0 stability control interference.
Utah FTW. Moved from there about a year...
Supposedly the lower strut bolt holes can be elongated to allow for camber adjustment as per FSM. However I have yet to see anything officially posted up anywhere from a FSM to back up that statement. If I can get around -2° in the front, it should be a huge help in front end grip.
And I am no...
No clue, in my region there is no one in FS.
Compared to CAM I was about 0.9 sec faster then the fastest CAM car.
Fun car, but it needs better tires and more front camber. I think once I get those things addressed it should be way more competitive in PAX...oh and me learning the car some more...
Little more feedback on OE tires for autox use.
These are results of this weekend, with ambient temps around 55F°
I gained about 2-3 PSi of pressure going from Cold tire to a tire after a single run. As last weekend, I found that best pressure for me was around 38PSi front and 36PSI rear.
I...
The stock tires seem to be decent, but like you I am going to wait and see how they hold up before I commit to try and buy another set.
The size is one thing that I am having a hard time learing, I came from a SM preped WRX that was 2600lbs so this thing feels a big and fat. However for its...
You will have a blast. Just remember to turn off stability control once you get used to the car. I found it to be quite intrusive once I learned how the car behaves at the limit, especially when I wanted to rotate the car around some of the tighter sections.
I also found that the front tires...
Yes this is in a 100% stock GT PP with stock tires, I didnt event take anything out of the trunk
The car has loads of lateral grip and surprisingly is very neutral at the limit with only slight understeer.
This weekends event should be in the 50's and I will start playing more with tire...
It should be readily available at most home improvement or hobby shops.
This is an example. I do not endorse this website or this product, but it is just an example of what you are looking for.
