Assuming the hideous coolant recovery tank (aka "the blob") we've seen in prototypes makes it into production, my first mod would likely be to replace it with something along the lines of the style used in the S197.
It seems silly to me that Ford would make an effort to dress up the engine...
If the future for Mustang means small displacement 4 and V6 Eco-boosted engines, I understand that. But the Mustang has never been exclusively about practicality. It's also an emotional car, a fun car, a car that means different things to different folks. For me, I can't imagine a Mustang...
It's amazing what a manufacturer (Fiat/Chrysler) can do when it has little regard for efficiency or gas guzzler taxes (and cost). Given a big enough engine with enough power, you can push any 4,200~4,400 pound tank to keep up with the competition. Nothing new or special about that. I am envious...
1) I drive a 2012 Ford Escape XLT and a 1978 Ford LTD II Sport Coupe 6.6L
2) Yes, I have owned domestic cars in the past. I've looked at the imports but was never impressed enough to buy one.
3) I've owned 15 Mustangs in the past -- several were 2nd/weekend cars. My 2015 that I have on...
That is fantastic news! I was unaware of that but, after seeing your reply, I googled this and found several forums where folks are also saying this for the 2013s. Hoping it doesn't come back in the 2015! Thanks!
This guy has sat in a 2015 and provided detailed information on the interior, including the material of the door panel. Here's the permalink:

Yep, I know what the splitter is for. Its main purpose is to provide a downforce to...
My wish list:
1) I wish the 2015's door panels still weren't hard plastic like the 2005-2014s. They feel like I'm in an interior designed by Rubbermaid with some soft-touch panels tacked on. No excuse for hard plastic in a premium model costing $35K-$50K considering the 2014 Focus and Fusion...
I won't be racing my 2015 GT Premium and, based on my experience with my 2011 GT and 2013 GT/CS (both had standard suspensions), I'm expecting my 2015 will handle and stop good enough for street use.
Also, the retail price on the 2015 I've ordered will probably be $38,725 (inc dest. & del.)...
Hoping Ford changes the coolant reservoir to something similar to that used in previous Mustangs (see pic from my 2013 Mustang). The tanks seen in the 2015 prototypes look awful (like a hernia popped open or something, LOL).
I recommend you check the Fusion door panel material out some time. It's really nice. I'm in my early 50s, btw, so I definitely remember the old vinyl that cracked after a few years. Definitely not recommending going back to those days :)
Maybe they should have a "carpet delete" option for you, too, so you can hose out the interior while you're wiping down the hard-plastic door panels? LOL! Just kidding with you, but I think material choices for door panels have advanced beyond the vinyl door panels of the old days. Just look at...
The photos and description by the OP of this thread is better than anything I've seen from the professional car journalists. Kudos and thank you!
Btw, if I understood you correctly, the door panels are still hard plastic, similar to the 2010-14s??? If so, I'm deeply disappointed as I was hoping...
