  1. Ford announces launch of SYNC AppLink with 2015 Mustang (@ 2014 CES)

I am a developer as well. I'm also lazy. Are you going to open source? If not that's cool too. You should make a big tachometer / horsepower meter that fills the whole nav-screen. Make it pretty and customizable. Also if there are other engine health metrics that aren't already displayed...
  2. Mod Proposal: Twinscrolling the GT

This is true. I drove a GT/CS which probably didn't have the Torsen. I was able to floor it in first from a roll without any traction issues which to me means two things: 1) Not a ton of torque (torque is what breaks traction, not horsepower) 2) Probably not the higher ratio rear-end
  3. Mustang GT/Boss vs Challenger SRT8?

That's exactly how it is in the Silicon Valley. I initially (before the s550 was released) was thinking of getting a 335i or maybe going broke and getting an M3, but that would be sooooo boring for this area. 5.0 Mustangs are by no means rare, but in my area they aren't all that popular either.
  4. Mod Proposal: Twinscrolling the GT

I test drove a 2014 GT, and I'd have to agree. I certainly wouldn't say it's bad, but it's not like a turbo car; even a turbo-4 banger feels punchier at the really low RPMs. Get some revs going though, and it's a different story :D
  5. S550 Chassis School

BMW will be releasing an M2 at some point. The M235i is not a "real" M car. It's basically the 2-series with the M-sport package. Great car, but no GT killer. However if the M2 had the power-plant from the current M3/M4 it will definitely pose a serious threat to the s550.
  6. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

Well one thing I remember is forged pistons. The new 2015 coyote got most (if not all) of the roadrunners valve train and some forged internals, but not forged pistons. Also the new coyote is using a variable length intake runner setup for more power under the curve. The roadrunner had a...
  7. 5.0 V8 - Automatic vs Manual

This is something to take into account if you are old or have already / previously been injured for sure. Beyond that, I definitely don't plan on getting seriously injured. What if you broke both legs and couldn't drive your auto? Admittedly less likely...
  8. TRIPLE YELLOW S550 MUSTANG Thread

Did you see it indoors at a show under very cool lighting? Most of the pictures from various shows have a color balance that is far from neutral.
  9. X-Plan Loaded GT VS MSRP L-E?

I wonder, if you bought a 50th, and then say, wanted a 2020 GT350, would the 50th hold it's value for trade in really well? If taken care of would it not depreciate much? I still don't want one, but I wonder how much better it will hold its value than a regular GT.
  10. X-Plan Loaded GT VS MSRP L-E?

L-E doesn't do it for me. The louvered glass is definitely a nice touch, and the interior looks cool, just not my style. I want a black leather interior with Recaros, not all the 50th glitz.
  11. 5.0 V8 - Automatic vs Manual

I've driven my friend's '08 GTI once ~10 miles. It wasn't as smooth as say, my girlfriends Corolla, but it was totally fine in traffic. The shifting times were excellent and crisp (much faster than a manual or any auto I've driven). I think the manufacturer-specific implementation of the DC...
  12. 5.0 V8 - Automatic vs Manual

Isn't it telling that the auto potentially won't even be available with PP? The auto also doesn't get launch control. Driving with a clutch in traffic will always suck, but then again I'm not buying a Mustang because I want a vanilla flavored car that drives itself. If anything Ford should...
  13. Who is ordering one before a test drive?

You won't be let down. I test drove one in January and that sealed the deal for me. I knew the s550 was what I intended to buy this year. My current car has ~200hp and is very light, so the jump to 420 hp was mindblowing. The kid who I test drove it with let me floor it so I got to experience...
  14. Why are YOU buying the new 'Stang?

Because it's projected to be one of the fastest, if not the fastest car for the money. Moreover it looks like a luxury car and has lots of nice, modern features.
  15. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

Where are these rumors posted, I haven't seen them???? :gossip:
  16. Who is ordering one before a test drive?

I test drove a 2014 GT CS recently and loved it. The s550 will be better in every way so there's no need.
  17. How long before we see some specs & prices?

It's just a tactic, and for every tactic there is a counter measure. And the competition is strong, Government Motors make good products too. Hopefully we get our specs soon, and they are impressive :ford:
  18. 5.0 V8 - Automatic vs Manual

    sounds "fun"
