It is under warranty. Ford refuses to touch it. I had this issue when I drove the car home from the dealership. Ford "fixed" it when it was stock. They just replaced the pigtail to the sensor. I thought the code was gone, but when I started racing it, (after mods) it came back. At that point...
Negative. P0340 and P0344. Same type of code, different bank. Its ironic though, the head they call to replace is the same side that P0340 has issues. Bank A. Right hand head. Also, I have spoke to ford engineers and they said they have seen the bad head cause P0340 before.
That is def a variable. However, it doesn't make sense why it would ONLY be that one issue from the PCM... But it is absolutely possible. Now, another thing is SSM50103. That SSM is attached to my VIN. Making me lean towards a bad head...
Mike, this feels like a really strong lead. Could you help me understand how to check/fix this or what exactly my issue would be if this is causing my problem? Apologies, I am not too familiar with what this is saying.
If the proper ratio of CMP events to PIP events is not being maintained (for...
Im not sure how exactly to do the $06 test. I could mess around with logging but I do monitor the desired and actual cam angles, they are good until I go WOT and rise in RPM...
This is definitely a lead I think. At least it could be. How do I actually monitor/look at the Mode $ data? I see on the page you sent there is a VCT mode $ data. How do I look at it on my car?
Hey sir. So I tune with the RTD and TDN App. My tuner has had me log with two different config files. All he really sees is that VCT defaults to 0 when I go WOT, I've noticed that initially upon going WOT my cam angle spikes to -19 (desired and actual. This is good I believe.) But as I get...
Yeah man sensors are def not the issue.. the factory tune thing, would be a pain in the ass. I also don’t think it’s mods, I had this code on the drive home from the dealership. (Stock) ford “fixed it” then I realized it wasn’t fixed when I started racing it… code only seems to pop at high RPM.
I took it to a different shop. They are pretty good though. I also can't really afford to pay another shop to do everything the first shop has already done again and then still maybe find nothing.
Yes I have a WOTBOX. It's not causing my issue since the WOTBOX was fairly recent and the P0340 is not. Had the P0340 way before the WOTBOX. Also, im not fighting a misfire right now. I'm fighting the P0340. Thank you for your advice though.
The shop that I paid to fix this said they took out every wire in the engine harness loom and tested from one side to the other (PCM). Tested voltages on the sensor and the pigtail on the camshaft sensor itself. They said they did, so I am going to say Yes to your question.
