I have replaced so fucking much, threw my hands in the air and took it to a shop. $3600 later⦠drove the car home with the same code. Iāve got new phasers, new solenoids, new timing, new OPG/CS, new sensors, new pigtails⦠you name it. Still have the P0340 and occasional P0344 only at high RPM...
Brother not sure if you've read through this thread (it's a bit lengthy so I figured you might not.) I've replaced everything in the fkn book. Minus PCM. Phasers, solenoids, sensors, pigtails, oil, opg/cs... list goes on. So many wires have been ohmed and tested..
If its constant at 0.0, that should be an easy fix. Mine will be fine, showing good readings on cam angles until I get to high RPM. Then it shuts off. Thats why mine is being such a B****
More than likely your issue is going to be cam solenoids! But hey, I would still really appreciate it if you let me know what ends up fixing it for you.
No sir I have not done that. However a shop that I paid a lot of money hoping they could fix this said they took every wire out of that harness and tested it front to back⦠checked out they saidā¦
I may try and push more for warranty coverage. Especially since I brought this cel in for warranty bc it popped up on the ride home from the dealership... I'm just worried if they crack into my head and it NOT be the issue they make me pay back.
Swapping the head is like a little less than 900 in parts. But I feel you. I don't want to do that job... ESPECIALLY if it isnt the fix... I may contact Ford and just ask questions about a new PCM. I know they won't warranty it since im tuned...
I don't remember if I've mentioned this, but I kind of believe I may have a bad head thats causing an oil blockage to the phaser interuptting VCT readings. SSM50103 is attached to my vin number, and I kind of feel a bad head is not impossible. The SSM calls for RH cylinder head... P0340 is bank...
