Please let us know what you think of the performance difference if any. I've already contacted MRT and they said the system drops about 20 lbs. from stock. They were unable to provide power differentials however. Hopefully someone will dyne the car before and after for some approximations.
From MRT...
"The 2015 cat-back systems from MRT do provide performance increases for the new model mustangs, but however we do not claim any HP or Torque gain's in actual numbers due to the numbers will vary from each vehicle, weather conditions , dyno and other various factors . The MRT...
I actually just emailed MRT today and asked them for performance and weight numbers from stock on their exhaust. I'll be happy to forward their reply to this thread.
I agree, their video is great, illustrating a great sound. But I held off, and gladly so, because they failed to provide power and weight information.
Now after reading the SW thread I'm so glad I did.
I'm creating this thread because I can't believe how difficult it's been for me to spend my disposable income on an exhaust system. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume there are many S550 owners like myself that would like the following information when you go to market with an exhaust...
Agreed! Stock vs. Manufactuer Catback. No tune. No Bullshit!
Power gains, or in this case, loss and weight difference vs. stock.
I mean, really, it's not that fucking hard! Maybe I need a marketing degree to spin some bullshit, or...in the cases of just about every manufacturer exhaust...
Wow...I guess I'm going to be taking a harder look at MRT. I loved the sound of their exhaust too and I highly doubt they would release a power robbing exhaust.
What's your thoughts on these two modes. IMO, Sport+ seems better, more power, better response. I expected quite the opposite. Anyone else have similar opinions?
Got "on it" after the first right turn out of the dealer. FWIW, the car doesn't seem to unlock its full potential until about 200-250 miles. Also, I find Sport+ to be the best driving mode.
Mine does it too. We'll see how I feel after another 2500 miles on it. If it really bothers me I'll take it to the dealer to at least have documented for after the warranty is up. However it is 5 years and 60,000 miles I believe for the powertrain.
Bad idea on Ford's part to do this. They already have a "high performance" model called the GT. It would be a huge disservice to the owners of those cars to release anything remotely close to the GT with a smaller displacement.
As someone who has a Fox, a supercharged SN95 (New Edge) and now a S550, I can tell you with all honesty, my favorite car to drive is the Fox. In fact, I thought it was fun before, but I fell in love with the Coyote motor in my S550 so much that I'm planning on ordering a Coyote for my Fox. I...
