There is conflicting info on the zl1 driver. One says Mark Ruess who is the Executive VP for Global Product Development and certified industry pool test driver. Two sources say Aaron Link an engineer and factory test driver.
The z28 driver was Adam Dean Chasis Development Engineer and factory...
I'm still trying to figure out how exactly GM humbled the competition? Their z28 could not even outpace the zl1 on the ring not to mention the GTR which is running more than 15 secs faster!
What was I thinking? You are right. It's just coincidence that certain manufactures are always 10+ secs faster than independent testing and others are less than half that difference.
Speaking of track conditions, how did GM pull a better time with the z28 in worse conditions/weather than they...
The Boss Laguna Seca is not 200lbs lighter than the Mustang GT. Actually it is the same weight depending on options at 3600lbs.

To sum up this mess of a conversation today, MT ran 3 cars 991/GTR/Z28. When they did not get the results from the Z28 they wanted they changed air pressure to reduce laps times.
Did MT vary the air pressure in both the 991 and GTR to verify that they indeed have the best times in both of...
I find it interesting that there is a large difference in times that Nissan and chevy put down at the ring compared to independent testing.
11 GTR 7:24 nissan, 7:34 Sport Auto - 10 sec difference.
09 ZR1 7:26 Chevy, 7:38 Sport Auto - 12 sec difference.
Porsche shows a difference too but it is...

The 18's with the 235's. Car at that point had less than 550 miles and that was the first time I had it at the track...
12.5/12.4 at 110/112. Best one that I found was 12.2 @ 115 for the 5.0 GT. The Boss is a little faster.
Also to note the 15 mustang GT with track pack is running lap times faster than the Boss Laguna Seca.
It's cool. I could be completely wrong. No big deal, Ford did create the most powerful v8 ever for production.
No it's not a TTv8 and it will outperform the 13/14 svt mustang.
Just stating the kind of statistics being thrown around are not easy to come by in real world environments meant to...
I was going off a post by someone saying 500-550 rwhp in 5.0 coyote is possible. Of course you can, but do it for mass production, durability/reliability, pass all enviro regs, and do it cheaply.
Where was c/d before the 13. I saw not one Mag state correctly that the 13 was 650+ HP!
I believe it will be about 550-570 crank horsepower either with forced induction 5.0/5.2 or more cubes(5.5, maybe 6.2) and be n/a. I believe it's too pricey to get this power into a 5.0 n/a and still pass all regs.
I think it will weigh in between 3600-3700lbs and corner and brake like a new...
For those who believe Ford will put out a 500rwhp 5.0 n/a in a $50k package are crazy.
It is clearly not easy/cheap to do in a mass produced/regulated market otherwise their would be tons of on the market. Those that have are in the $100k price range and above and even those players are...
Summer of 15 to start production. June, July, Aug, Sept...this when next year years production starts in Oct. With time frame its a 3 to 4 month run. If they go through Oct its a 4 to 5 month run. I have never seen MY production run into Nov of that year.
That's what I thought. Lowering the ride height, seating position, etc will lower the roof/hood/trunk lines without changing the basic volume of the car.
Other than Audi/Lambo and Ferrari name another manufacturer that has put a 5.0L+ with 100hp/L into a vehicle?
If it was as easy and inexpensive as you say there must be tons of them floating around.
