I really thought you were going to say something about taking your Mustang to your dealership for routine maintenance LOL!
Glad you are OK and especially glad all is well for your wife!!
So this has gone from a $500 to $600 DIY "upgrade" to a $1,200 to $1,400 investment. For that kind of $'s I can get a nice cat-back system... So now I'm torn. I dig the novelty and functionality of the AE set up, but for the $'s it is becoming harder to justify.
Thanks! On their website when I put in 5230-FA and 5230-FB, neither the diagram or the description indicate active exhaust, or even right vs left for that matter. Guess I'll just give them a call on Monday...
With the wiring and those 2 parts assuming they are what I need, it comes to...
Is there someone I can order the parts through on this thread or forum? I was at the dealer asking their parts guys about what I needed to order given my car has the plug already. First guy said “well that'll be Ford Performance parts and will void your warranty”. I explained that this is a...
I have stock radio, no safe and sound, no magnaride, yes on A10, no on digital dash. One thing you might add is convertible or not... Mine is a convertible...
How did you end up sourcing the wiring from the plug to the actuators? Seems like that wire harness is one of the missing links... and what has held me back from ordering and doing this. Part nimber would be great if you have it!!
Thanks!
I had it all installed at a local Cartoys. They have done some work for me in the past and did a clean nice install. So $3,500 total... That is speakers, amps, supplies, custom built ABS mounts for each speaker, all new wiring, and of course labor. It was honestly more than I anticipated...
Audio upgrade complete... My wallet is lighter but my system sounds amazing!
Focal 3 Way 165AS3 in front
Focal 6.5" weather proof woofers in the rear (don't recall model #)
JL Audio VX6006I 6 channel amp for front 3 ways
JL Audio 2 channel amp for rear woofers
Ended up having to leave the...
I'd rather have to twist the latch and not have a remote that lowers the top than give up my trunk space or have to rearrange trunk contents just to lower the top...
Would the active exhaust muffler part numbers be different for a convertible vs. a fastback? There is additional bracing on the convertible so I suspect there are some different bends around the axle area.
I just confirmed my 400A PP1 Convertible has the 12 pin plug for the actuators... So I'm...
My goal is definitely not to have a big boom from subs... Just want solid low frequency with clear crisp mids and highs, so the rattles shouldn't be an issue LOL.
The cost surprisingly isn't too bad. Thinking about what he described, I don't think it's going to be a full enclosure... I think it will be more something to make the mount more rigid to avoid/reduce rattling...
Plenty of room in the trunk for sure, but I would rather not give up the space...
You described what I was trying to say about the bass... and totally agree about the low frequency's. I talked to the installer yesterday and we are adding 2 small subs where the two rear speakers are and a 2 channel amp that will integrate with the JL VX600 so the subs will be tuned with the...
Exactly what I'm doing. In addition to what I noted above, I'm adding two subs where the rear speakers are with a small amp to drive them. All of this will be integrated and tuned with the JL VX600 amp.

After driving the GT for a little over a month and sadly not spending near as much time in the Slingahot, I took the Slingshot out for a spin this last weekend.
Observations:
*GT is obviously faster... 0-60, 60-100, 70-120, and everywhere in between. The Slingshot can hold its...
