I read somewhere that stock is 100degree IAT's when it starts pulling timing, and most tuners raise it to 110-20 before it starts pulling timing with their tunes. Don't quote that though lol.

Don't get me wrong, the stock Pirelli's are pretty bad too, but the G2 is honestly only an upgrade in wet weather in my eyes. High speed cornering you can tell right away the G2 has the softer sidewall of the 2. I think its fine however to daily drive on, and better than other tires for that...

Be cautious that the sidewall on the G2 is quite a bit softer when cornering compare to the stock summer pirelli's. I am running them not on the stock pp wheels, and regret my purchase. They are also quite a bit noisier when trying to grip compared to the pirelli.

I'm going to say it's the soft sidewall. I had these on my EVO X and took them off after a week, due to the same unsafe feeling you are describing.
