  1. Blue smoke out of exhaust

Pretty close to exactly this http://edgeautosport.com/manufacturers/perm-tuning/perm-tuning-pcv-plate-mazdaspeed-3-mazdaspeed-6-2006-2013-focus-st-2013/
  2. Blue smoke out of exhaust

Should rig up a way to do the james bond smokescreen on command with a button in the cabin that restricts the PCV.........:D
  3. Blue smoke out of exhaust

I am wondering if it would be worth the time to pop off the stock plate and gut that orange diaphragm as well......
  4. Blue smoke out of exhaust

That machined plate and 2 catch cans are the best fix you will ever get. Mazda never solved the issues on the mazdaspeed platform so I would not wait or even hope for Ford to come up with a fix.
  5. Blue smoke out of exhaust

Just to let you know that plate also requires use of at least 1 catch can, 2 if you really want a good setup. I can gets run in VTA while the other sources vacuum.
  6. Reliable DD

One thing to mention about built motors, yes they stand up to heat and pressure better but you trade off some reliability due to piston slap. Due to the piston and the block being different metals their rate of thermal expansion is different which means you need a larger PWC (piston to wall...
  7. Oil change time

On your next oil change smell your used oil. I am curious as have heard some complaints from other direct injected users that the used oil of Mobil 1 and Penzoil both smell like fuel which means they are getting diluted. Edit: To clarify a bit better I have read that Mobil 1 and Penzoil do not...
  8. Oil change time

So basically is only an issue if the oil is getting past a seal/ring by the sounds of it.
  9. Heat Soak:( Intercooler?

The Vee port option is the BOV (atmosphere) while the Plumb Back is the BPV (recirculate).
  10. MAPerformance: Ultimate R&D Thread | Air, Fuel, & Turbo Upgrades

From what I have been able to gather 400 wtq is at the top "safe" limit for the stock con rods. They may be forged but they are about as thick as my pencil. Bolt ons and a tune will take you there with ease. Now reliability also comes down to how you drive the car. I would say no boosting in...
  11. MAPerformance: Cylinder Head R&D | 7/6/15: Valvetrain Upgrade info posted!

WOW! Looking forward to seeing complete product and what results you end up with.
  12. Charge pipes

Another benefit of well designed charge pipes is stainless T bolt clamps and bead rolled piping ends. Will hold couplers and pipes together better to stop them blowing apart during a hard pull.
  13. Oil change time

Mobil 1 is decent but the issue it runs into on direct injected motors is it cannot stand up to fuel dilution like T6 can. Coming from the mazdaspeeds a lot of guys that ran Mobil 1 complained about the oil smelling like fuel when you drain it. When oil cannot handle fuel dilution it changes the...
  14. Oil change time

If oil is getting to your cat you have much bigger problems......
  15. Charge pipes

In my opinion the biggest advantage to the MAP pipes is they come with a much much much better BOV or BPV that is ran from vacuum like it should be and when you factor that into the price is best value.
  16. Oil change time

Shell Rotella T6 5w40 synthetic is what to look for if you so choose. There are a few reasons to go this way, oil has good fuel shear which protects against fuel dilution which is an issue on direct injected motors. Oil weight is slightly heavier and sometimes help prevent old smokey. It works...
  17. AP V3 Dash Mounting

You can get a GPS suction cup and mount it to the window by the A-pillar, the pivot ball is the same size I found. Extra cable gets hidden in whatever trim panel has room.
  18. Heat Soak:( Intercooler?

Bigger is not always better. You want to size the intercooler based on the turbo you plan on running in the future. Intercooler designs differ in not only size but fin density and end tank design. What you need to look at and compare is pressure drop, flow rate, and cooling ability.
  19. Turbo Blankets, whaddya think?

If that is a functional ram scoop then it could be mess with the designed airflow through the engine bay by causing turbulence. All depends on how the air flows in the bay from factory. Personally the only hoods I do are reverse venting to allow hot air flow that passes through the rad to exit.
  20. Heat Soak:( Intercooler?

Fair enough I am curious to see your results as your design appears to be top notch. Personally I will be going in a different direction based on price and ease of install as this is my daily that I want to make fun while I dump all my other money into my rally car. I also don't see outrageous...
