  1. Factory amp plug to rca's

shenoy if you have the factory amp, you can do the harness mods as posted here to send signal to an aftermarket , higher power amp to power your 250W speakers. bypassing the factory amp. if you want even better audio , you can use OEMradios module that flattens this signal. If you have a non...
  2. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

anyone find if non board mount versions exist for the 0160 connector? Ramb
  3. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

If you have altered amplfier gain ( new amp) or speaker effciency ( new speakers) you will need/want to disable ANC too. as the system is exactly calibrated for the factory hardware. anything different than this can cause added noise into the car from the ANC signal not matching the noise it is...
  4. GT350 and resonance

ok, but the fact that you have made audio changes to headunit, and software, still has me curious  I know many on the board are trying to confirm which bits truly disable the engine sounds with conflicting opinions..... as an automotive engineer with 25 years in interiors prod dev...
  5. GT350 and resonance

wildcard.... stock audio????? can you pinpoint the locaton? sounds to me it could be the "simposer" supplemental exhaust tone or ANC??? sounds like a saturated speaker..... when windows are opened, the ANC is deactivated.... like I said, just a wildcard..... Ramb
  6. Ecoboost (Fake) Sound by Subaruwrxfan

you will find these signal wires in the wiring diagram sticky at the top of the infotainment page you could cut them, or get a pin puller to remove them so that you could plug back to stock later. Ramb
  7. Help, aftermarket setup sounds terrible.

you might check with OEMRadio regarding just the harness. since you have line level already. this will have some radio head processing (dynamic range compression) but this will be much better than amplifying the signal twice as you are doing currently, and should improve the sound significantly...
  8. BASE Stereo wiring

my suggestion would be to open up the dash and use OEMRadio's "T" harness. plug and play and no wire cutting. there are a number of videos showing how to do it. Ive done it close to 10 times now. finding another location will probably require cutting wires as I have not seen any connector...
  9. Help, aftermarket setup sounds terrible.

I think the solution is to add a "Y" RCA jumper to each of OEM's output RCA's . connect one of each Y to the sub amp and use the low pass filter on the sub amp to dial in the desired low frequency output to the sub and the gain on the sub amp to match/blend the subs desired output power. Ramb
  10. Electrical guru's need your help

If you get a Y adapter you can sum the signal in the amp and increase output by 3dB., you can use less gain on the amp now for the same volume, ( better signal to noise ratio this way) Ramb
  11. Question for Mustang product developers regarding vehicle writeoff

Question for Mustang product developers regarding vehicle write-off We are developing a new product for the mustang and need access to a vehicle to complete the development and verify our design. Have you been successful writing off a vehicle for R&D purposes as you develop your products...
  12. subwoofer and amplifier install questions

Scott_O would you not want to use the factory LFE (line level sub signal) and dial in the gain of your new sub/amp combo? I do not know what processing is on this signal, but it may be less than what is present on the signal for the (smaller, less quality) rear speakers? just a thought...
  13. New Harness for the Audio Guys

the system with factory amp has separate input from radio head for audio and for sound design. for the base radiohead, the two are mixed in the radio head and will require the reprogram to eliminate the sound design. Ramb
  14. Audio Upgrade issues Help

I am not 100% positive, but I think the engine enhancement is output also from at least the drivers door speaker. so it is being mixed into the front channels.... Ramb
  15. It sounds cute

Here's my take ford and others NOW have variable cam timing to optimize output and drivability ( including idle) my understanding is these tunes adjusts the cam phasing at idle position (leave the overlap which is deal and being used in the higher RPM) to get the classic "overlapping cam"...

What an experience !! I was lucky to ride the ring taxi on the track. It was a BMW M5. I had zero appreciation for BMW's UNTIL I rode in that car. unbelievable. We were passing Porches, and other sports cars with ease. interesting day for us. we were the first ring taxi ride of the day. he...
  17. Audio Upgrade issues Help

any chance you have polarity wrong with any of the channels. the summing may be cancelling some stereo signal, or summing the stereo difference between left and right......?? just a thought
  18. Audio Upgrade issues Help

yes. OEMradio can also program the anc out of your radio, as well as give you a flat, line level signal so you may not need your processor. Just another option. Ramb
  19. Audio Upgrade issues Help

Also note that since you have changed the output gain and frequency response from stock, you will want to disable the ANC/sound enhancement by disconnecting the microphone. This change in "calibration" will result in possibly adding low frequency drone in the car which was meant to exactly...
